If you have flex in the chassis itís going to keep the tire in better contact with the track. You might loose some corner speed or steering but with some testing and setup changes you can overcome this. Carpet racing requires a totally different setup More flex? I would have thought flex to be a bad thing? I think the 3mm would be less prone to tweak as well?Tweak is caused by many different things, the chassis flexing and not returning to neutral is one of them. Chassis thickness really has little to do with this.
Should I invest in a 2mm chassis?? Sure, I think you should try it. our track is a school yard, and as such is a pretty bumpy and uneven surface, however they are building a new proper track for us which will have a perfect surface, but i dont know when it will be finished (its a long way off)
PUNISHER,

More secure.

spmiz,

The Pro 4 is considered a sedan package

azenis,

Washers only. Any shock o-ring will work.

Hey Thad...do you have a list of what your springs weights are in lbs? We got some springs from you guys a year ago to test with and lost the cheat sheet with the conversions.

Thanks,

Adrian

Thanks again Thad
What are my options for 2mm chassis? and where to get one? HPI parts availability is pretty minimal here in Australia, so would have to get from HK or USA
The flex thing suprises me.. i thought the stiffer the chassis the better as it would let the suspension do its job better, as with 1:1 cars.
But I guess an rc is more prone to bouncing around as they are only 1:1000th scale when it comes to weight

Would I be better off putting the standard chassis back on in the mean time, and getting some of those washers and the different countersunk screws?

I was chatting to one of the Team drivers here in England yesterday and he was saying that a spool will be released shortly ...!

Default Pro 4 Foam outdoor outlaw setup

Hi all...just got a used PRO 4 and wondering where I can find a good foam setup for the car...? I am running it outdoor....some 150x200 track (parking lot) with foams and open motor class....I will be using a Reedy TI 10X3 motor....with 98T spur...what is a good pinion for that size of a track?

Any help is greatly appreciated.....

Just tested my Pro4 with a spool this afternoon ... IT WAS AWESOME ... why have I not been using this before?? I could get on the power so early and car was hooked round the turns ... definitely the way forward for me ... ! My homemade spool held up well... can't wait for the actual version to be released by HPI...!
