I got my Pro4 about a month ago. It came from the lastest batch produced. I noticed that the chassis and upper deck are slightly thicker than that on my brother's car which he got a couple of months earlier. Maybe your car is from the lastest batch like mine. I measure the thickness of my chassis with a digital caliper and it came out to between 2.71 to 2.86mm as opposed to my brother's which is between 2.3 to 2.5mm. You'd be surprised that the chassis thickness is not the same althroughout.

If you like quiet cars, i would suggest belt car of some sort. Pro 4 is very quiet but shafts are not always the quietests.

Maintenance is easy and driveterrain in stock form is very very smooth

The Pro 4 is THEE quietest shaft-drive car to date! If, you didn't know, you would swear it was a belt-drive car, that just shot past you!

Default pro 4 balance

thanks for the info raygun.

I just tried some stiffer springs and it became loose one direction and had a severe push the other..
and was wondering if maybe the stiffer springs just made the balance ( or unbalance) more pronounced..

To get this car to handle well you really don't need any other parts, on carpet I am using the stock springs, the rear sway bar, 6 deg C-hubs and the shock positions are slightly different.

You might want to buy a ball diff though, or if you like one-ways then go for PRP's backing plate.

Anyone else having problems with 'shaving' their spur gear under breaking? This was my first time running mod with the car, I set the gear mesh as tight as possible while still having play, but still when I hit the breaks, the spur would get 'shaved' by the pinion.

I would come off the track with a pile of white dust just below the pinion from all the material that was taken off!

Like I said, the mesh is right, the motor is tighted down, so what gives?

Should I just go to 48 pitch gears instead???

the electrics i use are in my sig (except i now use a reedy Kr or a V2 instead of the d5)

and the other guys i have compared my cars with in the past seem to be similar weight electronics...well kinda.

one runs

gt7
kr297
2143 servo (i think)
demon/matrix spec motors and a Ti mod (again, i think he does)
GP3300 batts

the other guy runs

QC2
2143 or 2173 (cant remember)
V2 mod and spec motors
the rx that comes with the futaba 3pk
GP3300 (i think he does anyway)

so there isnt much differene between my car and the first guys car....but obviously the 2nd guys car is running a lighter esc...and maybe a lighter rx.

i have had my car since around april time so around 3 months...and it was bought from the same place as the guy that runs the GT7 etc.

ahh well...my car seems to run ok for me so i suppose i will shut up now and let you guys talk sense

What up? Remember me from the week from hell @ Snowbirds?-The Pro4 is an awesome car and so much more tuneable than the Tc3. Saw your pic in the magaziones a couple months ago for winning the Kyosho Mini Z stuff!!!

Dont let H.G. beat on you anymore!!
