hara was out at our champs warm up race on sunday. in my opinion, the pro4 is gonna be the real deal. he was only running 12th that day, but has been at the track (as well as all the other pro freaks) these past few days.
i did get to play with the car a bit as well as talk some to the designer for it as well. it's seems almost production ready, and it appears to have many of the bases covered that some of the other manufacturers missed.
the plastic is very rigid. it looks like the charcoal swirled variety of the american cars (high graphite content??). but the arms are fairly beefy looking.
the bulkhead's camber link mount is vertical, so that it can be shimmed up/down instead of choosing from a few holes that are too much of a change.
i was led to believe that the car will be released with aluminum hingepin mounts and motor mount. not sure about the threaded shocks.
it was as stiff as any top/bottom plate car i've felt, so maybe it will tear it up indoors.
well, i apologize if all of this was old news, but it was the first time i took a detailed look at this car, and really got to see firsthand the quality of the kit.
i am excited for it's release. and prior to seeing it on sunday, i hadn't even read a thing about it as it is another attempt to dethrone the mystical tc3. because of the recent craze of the shaft vehicles and conversions, i've grown bored with them. but i will say this hpi looks very logical and may have the best shot at becoming the next carpet king.
