rc_square24 - doubtful, but they are free of the normal thick grease that most r/c bearings have in them from the factory. Unless you're Hara/Masami/Michael Schumacher, you won't have to worry about metal treatments on the bearings.

Thanks everyone for their answers

hpi3270 - thanks! if you didn't mention it, I wouldn't have noticed that there were holes to mount something there.

I'll probably put the stuff that ppl use on the SD to keep the packs in on the inside holes to prevent the batts from sliding in and shorting on the shaft.

Gonna tape my batts so they're prob as secure as they can get but you dun wanna take chances

Oh btw, I'm a two day old owner of a pro4

If it is made out of Metal, it is a conducter of Electricity and it WILL short if contact is made between opposing poles (+ & -) at the same time. The purple Anodizing is not an insulator.

Default Except for...

...the HPI HD ballcups...LOL

I noticed them, because I just got some yesterday. Every time I would touch the back end on something (for me quite a light hit...) the LH inner upper rear ballcup would pop off. Lost my last purple diff ring (sigh) and started to burn through my Pro3/Pro2 collection.

Sooo...relative newbie handling question...I'm gonna do the Hobby People race this weekend in Riverside (Rookie class baby!!!)...the parking lot is total crap (like last weekend, but worse). Last weekend, the car seemed hooked up in the rear on fast parts, but VERY loose coming out of the slower turns. I would guess that the wing and speed helps it stay planted at high speeds.

Any suggestions as to how to plant the rear better coming out of turns without throwing out the rest of the setup? I already raised up the front .5mm to 5/5 from 4.5/5...I thought about just disconnecting the rear bar (maybe both)...but would that really hurt the handling everywhere else?

The rest of the car is box-stock. 1.5 negative f/r, ~-1 front toe.

Any advice would be appreciated. I want a trophy.

I guess the best way to prevent any short on the batteries is to place a strip of electrical tape on the batteries closest to the drive shaft.
