also, they say tight rest your car flat on the setup board and tighten them, don't hold the car in your hand and tighten.

Default Chassis Tweak

Guys;

Just went over the Upper Deck tighening sequence AGAIN, and the same result.

If I put just the 2 screws for the Drive Shaft support, you can see that the rest of the holes are off about 0.5mm. It is like everything is off from front to back by this amount.

Guess I'm going to have to send it in and request a replacement.

Thanks,

Yeah, I found that I get much better results if the chasis is on a flat surface when tightening. Don't even think about doing it with the tires on.

So it doesn't sit flat AFTER tightening down the upper deck?

If not, then yes, you probably are owed a new one....

that's weird...

aren't these parts machined by computer controlled mills and molded by perfect molds?

It's the end of May, correct? If I can get some pre orders in for my diff backing plate the production run could be done before that race.

I probably need to pre sell around 25 of them and they look like they will cost around $18 currently. These are machined from 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum and will be purple anodize and include the M2 screws. I realize that cost might sound a little high, but if they save a few gears they are cheaper for us racers in the long run. But I will be sure to post exact pricing and info when it's ready.

Futureal, how about that Team PRP forum? Haven't heard back yet. You must be suuuuuper busy, eh?

Can't you just start that forum yourself? Just title it how you want and it'll be the PRP forum.

18 bucks is fine with me. Thats cheap compared to the frustation of not finishing a race when you drive into a board and strip a gear. Its worse if your leading...

Yup, Memorial Day Weekend, but there aren't any one-ways allowed, only dual diffs or a front spool (hint, hint ) We should know tomorrow who's in and who isn't in for the RROC

Pops....is the chassis sitting on a flat surface with out any shocks or tires on? If the chassis is not sitting flat on the ground then it might bow and that would lead to the holes not matching up. Just a thought.....

Well, he's an advert. So if he starts the thread then it'll be legit. Yes?

Obviously there's some red tape that I'm unaware of, but if he's the "real deal" then everything should be "cool" and the thread would flourish!

It seems silly that someone other than the thread "tech" would have to start the thread. I mean, what is going to happen if he makes an "Official Team PRP" thread? Is he going to stop it?

Obviously if I started the thread it would be crap. But if he started the trhead himself, then? Wouldn't it be legit?

worth a try i guess.
This is exactly the way Atsushi Hara runs his chassis also.
Maybe he did file a little the misaligned holes.
