yeah, the swaybars should be able to rotate freely when disconnected from the arm. If they don't, you have 'em to tight.

darn... the fantom bearing oil is thin oil...

The oneway slips worse now...
Do i take the drivecup out, oil the shaft of the drivecup and put it back in?

How about that white grease that the kit includes?

steve, you may have a bad one way. Your bearing should not be moving in its housing. Try contacting HPI and seeing if you can get it replaced.

what exactly is this 'slippage' in the one way?:

A-the outdrive can actually rotate backwards in the one-way bearing?.

B-the one-way bearing is spinning/slipping in the purple hub?.

if either of those, only cure is a new unit all together..

actually, you could replace the one way bearings if you had the proper tools.. some are press fit in the hubs.... and i think some are epoxy'd in... i would rather have it replaced if need be..

I guess it was Problem A...

I am happy to annouce that after using the HPI white grease, there is no more slippage in the oneway.... now it locks solid whenever it's suppose to...

I am a happy camper!
I was always told not to grease or oil the oneway bearing it self in because it can slip, but i guess its backwords?

Zombies - I didn't get a chance to motorspray it. After my post, i went in my room to disassemble the front hub so i can take out the outdrive.

I greased both outdrives one that was slipping before had some light scratch? marks.

you can remove the light scratches by using auto polishing compound.. put the outdrive on a dremel or drill..put some polishing compound on a cloth and let it spin til it's nice and shinny. This works for shock shafts as well!... if you don't have polishing compound...use toothpaste. it will be nice and shinny with no cavities...
