rczombies, yesterday, when i found out i had no droop screws, I mounted the a-arms, built the very pretty shocks, CVDs and the diffs...

When I was working on the pro 4 this morning, the 2mm wrench stripped slowly so i had to stop... but now I finished half the car with my friend's 2mm L wrench (starting to strip again...)

Man.. this car is so awesome!!! servo and battery sits sooooooooo closely to the center...
My friend also gave me 4 purple wheels and 4 purple wheels with used yokomo tires... that are pretty sweet rims...
I will take pictures if i can tonight. I think i can finish the car tonight (but no sanded and CA'ed upperdeck and shocktowers. Maybe i will leave taht for the weekend)

About the droop screws, can I contact hpi to send me the set of 4 that I am missing or do I have to buy my own now?

Building this kit without a 3mm tap is a no-no!
Be careful with the tap, go STRAIGHT into the holes.
Be VERY careful of the 1st thing you need to tap. It is the 4mm droop screw holes. ONLY GO ABOUT 1/2 way in. If you go all the way through, your droop
screws will be loose.
Z now I know why Tobee gave spare spacers. It is to firm up the spur gear.

Just for future builders:

I would NEVER suggest using L-wrenches with this kit. Although I have not tried, I would not trust them for even one screw!! The screws are hard enough to get in with a good set of wrenches, let alone a L-wrench.

I've built two kits, and from each one, I still ended up with red lines across my hands from my Dynamite & Losi wrenches.

If you use a tap, I'm guessing you could get away with the L-wrenches, but tapping the holes with the screws themselves, OUCH! I wouldnt even try ( personally )...

Tony,

You must have read my building tips....

But, I used a 4mm tap where the droop screws go through the arm, and mine aren't loose.

TSR6,

You should always use a tap! I have Hudy wrenches, and I STILL used a tap!

The way I see it: We're no longer threading screws into soft plastic, like in the TA01 days, all the new stuff is graphite/plastic mixes. Using a tap takes more time, but makes the car much easier to build/take apart.

For Super Steve:

Didn't you read my building tips?!

Finally broke something on my pro4..
Front bevel gears, due to high speed impact into another car parked along the straight......

Rear Ballstud in rear hub...tapping too many boards.

Otherwise car is still going strong after a few months.
