Default HPI Challenge Dates

Anybody know the dates and locations for this years challenge races. Gotta get the vacation turned in and didn't see anything about the 2004 races on the HPI website.

Default 28mm tires

Is anyone running the 28mm tires on the Pro 4's? If so, how is this being done. I am running 26mm TRCs' and still had to move the lower rear shock mount in one from the manuals recommendation. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I just got my Pro 4. I cant wait to run it on the rug. I wanted to see if I could get an updated list of tips and tricks for help while building the Pro 4. I have seen many tips, and wanted to see a full list. Have most all of you boiled the gears? Seems strange to me. Thanks for the help.

I didn't boil my gears, but I didn't find this forum until I finished building my kit. The idea seems odd to me too.

I'm just getting back into RC with this kit, so I'm a relative newbie to carpet racing and stuff. We'll see how many things I can "snap" when I take it to my LHS for the first time.

Default Pro 4 takes RPM's first stock Race

After a little bit of testing and some practice, the HPI Pro 4 was able to take the win of the first stock touring race ever held on the carpet of RPM Speedway, in Orlando Fl. The rest of the field was composed of Demon's, TC3's, and X-Ray Evo's. With more testing of the car and the addition of the tuning options soon to be available I should be able to widen the gap between the rest of the field and myself. This car seems to get faster with every run.

if i had a tc3, i would probably try one of the warpspeed or bmi chassis before i got an entirely new car. That depends on how many spares you have and how much money invested.

DT,

I JUST finished running mine at SoCal tonight, and I have to say, having a car handle this well out of the box is quite impressive. Now, I did some "fine tuning" but the setup was basically box-stock. The car has a tremendous amout of steering, and seems to "whip" out of corners. I was amazed how little effort it took to get the Pro4 setup for racing tonight.

Additionally, I was impressed with how quiet the car runs, and how smooth the drivetrain is. It took me a fair amount of effort and tweaking to get my TC3 as good as the Pro4 is out of the box.

For me the TC3 always felt like it need to be "thrown" into the corners. The Pro4 feels more like it "glides" around corners.

Give the Pro4 a try, I think you may find it a breath of fresh air from the TC3.
