i have some extra HPI universal dog bones for the Pro 4 that was accidently purchased thinking i was getting MIP's.

anyways, are they any substitute axle parts i can use with the Pro 4 universals?

say for example Tamiya's or Yokomo?

Thanks in advance

I need 3mm chassis, get on your CNC and help me please!

Been trying to ask privately but I am not getting anywhere and I am getting desperate.

Can anyone make me a 3mm Pro4 chassis in 14 days, I don't need it milled anywhere, and a thicker top deck?
David,

We will be working on a 3mm chassis for the Pro4 shortly, including a few other items that have been identified. Two weeks is a bit tight, but if you are interested, then just email us at customerservice@ballistichobbies.com

Thank You,
Louis

This is for Carpet Nats, so I need it in 2 weeks maybe 18 days, otherwise carpet sesson is over until Cleveland and HPI should have something done by that time.

David Joor,

BMI might be another option for you as well. He does great work. So have you ran this car on the rug yet with foam tires?

Is BMI Jason? I was trying to get a custom chassis done but no one has the time, now I don't care, I just want a thicker chassis

Yes I got to run it yesterday with mod foam on Dupont carpet like snowbirds. 3rd pack on it and it was smoother and easier to drive than the TC3 with all the tricks done to it. You know how the TC3 wants to be driven at 120%, it always wants to be pushed hard you know? The Pro4 feels more like an Xray as far as handling goes, it wants to be driven around the 85 - 90% area so you make hardly no mistakes driving but it has the exact same rip as the TC3 without any sound. The only thing you hear from this car is the tires in the turn and the whine of a 8x2 at full RPM. I couldn't believe it to be dead honest.

Setup was easy, I made one mistake that I had to back track on and that was going to a shorter rear link, everything other than that was spot on and took 4 packs to have the car read setup wise for the Nats.

I just think the car can be improved on carpet with a thicker chassis. The car was not designed to be marketed as a carpet car right out of the box. It would be silly to do that since more people race asphalt (slowing changing though if you ask me). On the setup sheet HPI has an area for 3mm chassis so I am sure it is in the works.

How about taking two chassis, and epoxying them together?

I plan to do that on the top deck if I don't find one but the chassis would raise the CG to high and I don't have a mill to cut down the areas, but believe me, I would do it.

DJ,

Sounds killer. Good luck to you at the Nats. Unfortunately I cannot make it. My baby daughter (11 months) is having surgery that week. I know you will have mad rizzip from TP..........

BMI is Jason.

Have you tried Victor at Warpspeed Racing? He would be another good option.

Had a second sat of racing and well the car is awesome yes and all of the other good stuff but there is a problem with the front oneway diff gears and I hope hpi and well use racers can figure out why this is happening besides the obvious "DONT HIT ANYTING" line. We all hit thinks but it shouldnt cost us a diff gear evertime we hit something To be honest I have no clue to how to fix it and no the hole boiling them in water thing doesnt work, did that same result. This is a very good car and I hope this doesnt become its down fall. I guess the one good thing is that the bevel gear set is pretty cheap well not if we are going to have to buy 50$ worth of bevel gears to make it thourgh the month. Anyway that is my only concern about the car. This car is a very good car should be a very good summer for the car.

Does it only happen with the one way?
I remember my TC3 when it first came out would break a CVDs every time the front end got airborne. Associated then had MIP make the bones bigger diameter.

Bigdog..

I'm working on retrofitting the 'Cuda beveled gears into the car..since they both share Identical drive ratios...39t gear. The Cuda gear is alot beefier... I hope HPI will revised the gears soon. Another I considered doing it putting the EVo3 graphite diff plate on...but it's drilled for 4 holes not 3.... I guess I'll redrill some new holes...and find some longer screws to make it work...

keep ya posted.

That might work(cuda gear)it looks like you would have to tap the holes on the pro4(the oneway)I might try it and see if it could work..
