My concern is the fact that his shock collars are at the top of the shocks, and his rideheight is still high. Something doesn't seem right...

I agree something is messed up some where...on mine with the same set-up...if I put the shock collars all the way to the top...it's about 4 to 4.5mm height.

jleibund... what is the shock length?

Talking

Well, I have a pair of 24mm racing slicks:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXSE80&P=7

They seem to be approximately the same diameter as the X-patterns - Tower lists most of them as 66mm, including those Advan A038 that someone recommended. Does anyone have a link to tires listed at 60mm outer diameter.

Also, thanks for the droop comments, please pardon my 'green-ness' with all of this, eventually I'll get it through my thick skull

Unmounted shock fully extended should be 67.5mm in length.

I used an old nail file to sand the edges (use the fine grit side). Then soak a q-tip in thin CA and carefully apply to the edge of the chassis. When dry, it should look shiney.

I used my finger, and pealed the glue off afterwards.

I started out using one of the parts bag to push the glue around, but found the finger method to be faster.

For inside the battery holes, I used a thing called a "Microbrush" http://www.microbrush.com/

I also use the Microbrushes to clean my airbrush after use. They are handy to have around, and dirt cheap.

I use med CA so it doesn't run and just slide the tip all around the chassis.... then spray it with Accelerator... BAM!

haven't tried the finger method...hmmm maybe next time..

You have to move quickly, and keep your finger wet, otherwise...well, you start to see how quickly the glue sets.

jei - I wish I had my car here to measure for you.
