Just in case they are hard to get a hold of for a while.
I already tried to fit the cuda diff and gears since they both share the same drive ratio... but no can fit...

haven't seen any parts yet in the state...Tower has all the parts listed already... you best bet for parts if RainbowTen or RcModel.

Instead of using the countersunk screw... I place a flat countersunk washer instead..it will hopefully displace any inpact and hopefully not crack it... I found from the past that the countersink screw will crack in that area first duing a hard frontal impact....

Default Wow!

Well here's the report after my first race with the Pro4. The first pack I ran was the stock setup according to the manual. I ran stock class using a monster motor. The only changes I made was using Losi 50w oil in the front and 40w oil in the rear. Tires were Sorex 32's with hpi green insert on yokomo wheels. I was running at Socal in Huntington Beach, CA. I wanted to race the 19t class but decided to take it easy on the car since no spares are available yet.

First pack: I was very surprised with how well the stock setup worked. The car had plenty of steering and good steering in/out of the turns. The car setup, however, I found was too soft. There was a lot of body roll and just a tad too much steering. But overall, I was impressed how easy it was to drive. I didn't push the car too much. I was just trying to get the feel of the car.

Second pack: This time I took the rear sway bar off and changed the springs. I used TC3 golds in the front, and blues in the rear.
Impression: WOW!! I had alot more corner speed, but the car still had too much body roll. As I became more confident with the car, I pushed it a little harder. Although the car transitioned pretty well, it still wasn't enough. The one problem I see is that there is too much toe in the rear. 3 deg is more than I'm used to. I think 2 deg would be plenty on asphault with rubber tires. The other thing I noticed was that the car was squatting too much in the rear. At 5mm ride ht, I didn't expect to bottom out, but it was evident at the rear corners.

Third pack: I decided to add some anti-squat. This helped a tad. By now I was quite comfortable with the car. I was surprised that everytime I really pushed the car, it just kept going.

Fourth pack: I dedided to raise the roll center in the front of the car using the camber links. That helped alot as it kept the front end from rolling too much in the turns.

In qualifying, I did farely well, but only managed to qualify 9th; tough competition. 3rd qualifer through 10th qualifier was only seperated by about 5-6 seconds.

I ended up taking 3rd in the main. It was amazing to see how easy I was just reeling in the other cars ahead of me. I did notice that most of the cars were just going through the turns too slow, whereas I was able to stay on the throttle. My fastest lap was a 11.7 with lots of 11.8's and 11.9s. My fastest lap with the previous car (XXXS) was an 11.8, but few to rare with most being in the low 12's. The funny thing is that it took me almost a month to hunt that setup on the losi just to hit 11.8, whereas the Pro4 I hit 11.7 with it's first debut. Not bad, since that I know with some more tuning I can get it down to the low 11's.

Overall impression: Look out! The Pro4 is no joke.

Damage report: Nothing visible from the outside. When I got home though, I had my car on the table and as I was manually turning the rear wheels to see if the bearings had freed up even more, I heard a click in the front transmission every once in awhile. After pulling the diff case apart, I found that the diff gear was missing about 5 teeth and the input shaft gear was missing about 5 teeth as well. BUMMER! I guess I'll just have to run it and til It ends up stripping all the teeth off or the spares come in. On another note, one other guy had a Pro4 at the track. After the second qualfier, he had to pack up and go home. It seemed that his diff case exploded, the part that you screw down by the input shaft. His diff gear and input shaft gear was toast, stripping most of the teeth off.

HMMM...Can't wait for the option stuff to come out.

GOOD JOB HPI

Jeff
