Ok..don't believe me....the gears fit for a fact, you have to use both ring & pinion though..

I have some unused spools sitting in a box. And I believe there is a oneway in there as well.

It's been a while but I did run the tc4 diffs in my pro4, I was using the same diffs out of the ntc3 also..I'm trying to remember what we were doing to make them fit..but they did..I don't really care if you believe or not..but guess you never noticed the similarities between the tc3 & the pro4? You know you can use the cvd shafts from a tc4 also right..
Just stumbled on this conversation so I thought I'd chime in. I have several TC3s and I've also had a couple of HPI RS4 MTs. The heavy duty one-way for the TC3 uses a different bearing than the standard one. I think the bearing is metric because the same ones fit on my RS4 MT one-way. I think the inside diameter is different on the bearing but the outside diameter of 5/8ths is close enough to 16mm to make it work. So the TC3/4 diff should work if you also use the bearings.

Ok so... I got the T.O.P. light weight diff parts in the mail yesterday and if I turn down the outer diamiter of the diff it will fit in the ring gear. The screw holes in the case align perfect with holes for the diff balls. Now if I could just find a whole diff with outdrives and not just the rebuild kit.

Well going back to the ball diff, to much work to get the T.O.P. diff to fit. It wouldn't be difficult if had access to a lathe, but I am not going to attempt to turn down the outer diameter evenly with a dremel tool. I am just going to drop some cash on some TLR tungsten diff and trust balls, they are the same size as the pro4 stuff.
Also still looking for another one of these to put on the track, PM me if you have one

Hello
I have a friend with the pro4. He is trying to run the car in VTA. We r having a problem with the rear end breaking loose in the corners, wether its on power or off power. I'm familiar with TC's but we can't seem to find a setup to keep this from happening.
Does anybody have a good setup for VTA? I've reached wits end trying to figure out how to keep backend planted!!
Thanks

I am running my pro 4 in.VTA and its great. Suspension is 30wt silver spring rear 35 gold spring front. rear mounting is middle middle front is middle inner. inner supsension blocks are raised 2mm all theway around. 4deg caster blocks 3 deg rear toe. inner hole on front and rear camber mounts. ball studs raised 1.5mm. rear hub camber mount out hole no washers. I run on outdoor concrete. If your buddy gets too fed up with it I will take it off his hands. possible trade with TCX with spec r diffs front and rear.
