Try a Cup Racer bevel gear. Same ratio.

I know the TC3 gears fit in the Pro4 but it changed the internal ratio from 2.4375 to 2.5

Would be perfect(metal) except it doesnt look compatable (3 slots on the centershaft side)

I'm just after something a bit more robust (am running a 9T BL motor)
Ive ordered some Kyosho LA200(TF5) so will try them & may order some TC4 gears. They are all cheap enough to try, its just a 4 week wait for delivery.

Have you guys tried to boil the gears? I did that for years and it does help.A few of the "things" that you guys don't seem to understand is "force" and proper shiming of the diffs, improper shiming is what does 99% of the damage, Hara raced for years using a pro4 without using metal gears, tc3, tc4 gears, and I doubt any of you guys run the HP that Hara did. Pro4's come with a oneway stock..and underpower if you hit anything the force has to go somewhere..if your breaking gears and you think their shimmed corectly try running a diff up front and see..a spool is the same as a oneway as far as force goes. It's a matter of setting your lash on your gears. Do it wrong and you will break teeth.

Your diffs are NOT shimmed corectly..you will have problems as long as the spacing of your gears are incorect. I have raced the pro4 for 5 years and NEVER had as many problems with the gears as you guys. Boil the gears and work on shimming your diffs, problems will be reduced..both fixes are simple and FREE..Have you checked your diffs to see if their shimmed corectly? and remember the stock set up may need more shims to be "right"..I'm just trying to help, I've raced this car for years and have been very competitive with it..but I did understand the whole "proper shimming" deal..

are the screw holes in the right spot or do they need to be made? i have a nexxus 2s lipo that weighs 9oz and measures 5.3"x1.9"x.71" and since it's a lot thinner than a sub-c, do you think the strap would be able to hold it securely in place?

9T brushless? That'll be an EZ-Run? Thats similar to a 19t brushed, slightly lower power than one. Standard Pro 4 gears are tough enough when shimmed right because when the Pro 4 was current, Hara and Moore etc would run as low as 10t brushed!
