Why convert one? There are other 1/12 pancar where you can put a brushless right away.

I thought so after I read the info. This is what they came out with in 1985 as a electric 4 wd 1/12th. It was run at the then Spring Nationals in Atlanta ,GA., by Big Jim. It did not finish most of the time - ran out of juice (1200's back then). It was never never legal (4wd).

Yup...Kyosho had a 4wd 1/12th scale pan car that used a chain drive to the front diff. This design was later brought to HPI, changed to a belt, and down sized to 1/18th scale to become the HPI RS4 Micro.

LOL. there were many 1/12th 4wd cars in japan most were chain one was a belt driven car. not really a valid time line and a direct link to an HPI 1/18th car but at least were talking about 1/12 4wd. There is a forum in the nitro thread on this car it has been going on for some time.

HPI stated on their forums when the RS4 Micro released that it was the same designer from Kyosho and that the design came from the original 4wd 1/12th he had designed. Of course that was back when HPI still had forums.
