Now come to think of it I have also sold about $400 worth of cars and equipment. Still pretty deep in it though. A few people ahve brought up good points, I live in Vegas and dont gamble or drink so I save probably 150 200 bucks every weekend by playing around in my backyard or spending the day at the track rather than going to clubs and bars like most college students.

Probably well over 70k... I wouldn't even want to begin to calculate it all... I'm looking to drop somewhere between 3 to 5k for a new 5th scale TC over the winter... That'll be before I buy a new engine and enough tires to get me through the season... I'm also contemplating getting an F1 so I can do the world next year, that'll be another 5k... (I'll take the TC engine with me)

This is still my CHEAP hobby...

With all of the kits, motor swaps, hop ups, replacing broken parts and support parts, over the last 8 or 9 years, easily nearing the 40k mark.

A bunch

But it is a lot better than making toilets... and the testing is a lot more fun! I get all the new stuff first at least.

lets not scare people here!

A person can be racing well at the club level for $300 to $500 easily. You can get started for 2 bills in many cases.

I reckon I would have spent around $15000 AUD over the past three years. I'd have to check my Paypal account, but I prefer ignorance.
