Hey Geppetto,
When are you going run the 416x? Are you running 17.5 or 13.5 with it? I got one for Christmas and i'm just starting to learn it.

Hi, I've just got my 416X and I've run it with the Demon Lipo tray . The car feels good and tracks very well. If I don't want to run with the tray, how should balance my car . How much weight should I put and where should I place it? Your advises is much appreciated. I bought the car used and comes wt the tray.

It depends on the weight limit in your country and the electrics you run. I have 70g down the outside of my lipo and that's balanced at 1430.

Hi i have a few questions:

1. Which brands of 48dp spur gears fit the 416x?

2. How big of a 48dp spur gear will fit?

3. Also what is the equivalent of a 105 tooth 64dp spur in 48dp?

Thanks

Welp... Have my new 416x on the way! Got a great deal from the LHS. Now... I really want that Ecotek chassis that is out of stock! Anyone try this chassis? Comments?

I'm using hpi racing 78t 48dp spur.
78t is very similar to the 105t 64dp,maybe a bit smaller.
I could use pinions from about 20 to 32t.
A 79t could fit but not a 80t because my 78t is very close to the hole on the lower deck.Maybe a 79t needs some shaving from the lower deck.
HPI,Hot Bodies, yokomo and Kawada will fit but i think xray spurs are not.

what I found out is that you need asia based companies (kawada, xenon, hpi) if you want to use all four mounting screws. If you go with kimbrough, RR, PRS, you can only use 2 out of the 4. The center hole is pretty much the same. If you tighten the 2 holed ones too much, the spur will start to warp. So I use the xenon ones exclusively.

Agree with redbones on this one. I like the HPI glass-filled spurs because they are nice and stiff so they are harder to warp and the 4 holes are spot on. I've been using those since the Pro2 days! But they only do them in steps of 3 teeth... And 81T just fits with a teeny bit of clearance.

Would it kill Tamiya to drill the center pulley so it'll work with any hole pattern?

HPI and Xenon spurs are identical apart from colour

Can someone confirm what the biggest size 48dp spur you can run on the 416 is? I'm currently running 76t but with the new tekin software my motor is right up against the motor mount using a 17t spur

I'm running 81T at the moment. Just clears on the Tamiya chassis but I beveled the slot slightly just in case. There is slightly more clearance with the Smokem chassis.
