I thought it will be the same as the wilky blue set but black.
Anyway it looks great!
Those are the "Short" springs for the mini chassis. Black colored version of 53333. No white spring contained:

Yeah, those are for the mini and they are really soft. I first used it for my TA02. Too soft for TC imo unless you are running in a really dusty track or even wet. Mainly use those for my mini.

looks really good but myself, i'll be buying the smokem chassis. i like the way that one is made, simple as far the weights i can manage. besides i dont have 30 dollars more for the exotek chassis let alone the extra 15 for the batt. strap

According to this chart floating around, they are actually stiffer than the corrosponding TC springs of the same color. That makes sense since a shorter spring of the same diameter wire will have a higher rate.

Actually, there's three springs sets around...

The standard ones (53440/49389/49382) are the ones we all use anyway.
The short ones are 53333, as are the new black ones...
And there are also the 53163 springs, which are the ubber soft ones included with the Pro-mod suspension (bottom three of the chart

If you need one right now, I would pick the Exotek. Smokem is still waiting for the first batch that is coming soon...

Exotek is listed as coming soon. So looks like a wait on both...

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the explanation.

Redbone is right. The 53333 spring set is very soft. I too still have them from the TA02 days and they are way softer than any current touring springs. Their wire diameters are quite small so they are probably the ProMod springs from that chart.

Has anyone documented the range of gearing that will fit in the standard 416X chassis?

ie: a 50 spur won't mesh with a 19 pinion (as an extreme example)

48P and 64P data would be helpful.

Phil,

I don't know that anyone has done anything formal on min/max gearing, but I know at about 80t the clearance is starting to get a bit marginal for spur gears in 48dp
