I'm itiching to see how she does next weekend when I run mod for the first time

But yeah, hope so for round 6, should have some better cells by then too.

Cheers

Thanks Ed, it was a great result in the end, I new the car had the speed as I had hit a 14.87 in round 3 but I kept clipping bot-dots which will always cost yah.
I think in my best run, I lost nearly 6 seconds in errors. I would have had ftd otherwise
2nd overall was the best result I have ever acheived at Carpet Wars and it's fitting as last weekend was the last run with my trusty T2'007. 5 years with xray and now its time for a change.

What i did notice about your car was the mid - exit corner speed. Very good.

Regards
Richard.

For those who might be interested, I see that SQUARE has released their aluminum chubs for the 416/IFS. They are $31 compared to 3Racings $12. But they might be more beefy compared to 3Racing. I dunno. So far my 3Racing chubs are holding up fine. I did do a couple more cart wheels due to corner dots. And they are holding up fine. But I have yet to clip a corner to really test them out.... yet...

Nah, if the weather is okay Saturday... I might dig out my offroad truck and race it in Fay. If the weather is iffy, I will race at Debbies or Maryland. I'm not gonna go run off Glenn's oval crowd.

Questions??

I was wondering for all of you who had/have TRF415 MSX MRE and now have the 416 if there is a big difference in performance with the 416 vs the TRF415?

I bought a TA05 to race at a TCS race this past month and got hooked on r/c again after 4+ years... So I bought a used 415MSX and am waiting for it to get here still... I found out to run lipo's in the 415 I would need to dremel the bulkhead or get the MSXX stick pack conversion kit(about $120)... I don't like to hack parts so the kit would be what I do. That now pushes my used 415 over the $300-$350 range. So now I am 2nd guessing my purchase of the 415 and wondering if I should just spend the extra money and get a 416.

First off I would like to say that I am not the best driver out there since I just got back into the hobby (I am a bit rusty.) I am more of a middle of the pack person so far. I don't have the constancy yet in lap times, but can turn some very good laps. So I am not sure if the differences between the 2 would even be noticeable for me or not.

What do you guys think. Keep the 415 or just say screw it and spurge and get the 416...

I thought about it. But I don't think I can get there in time to race with decent sleep and driving 5+ hours. I won't get home from work till maybe 1am Saturday morning. Then sleep, then drive 5 hours. What time does the track open? Registration time? Racing starting time? Isn't it the Winter Carpet Nats at Mimi's this weekend?

Hi Travis. If your club is not super strict on Lipos, the MaxAmps 5000's will fit into the 415 without mods. If this is no good, sell the 415 and get a 416. I don't think the stick conversion is worth it - you'd be forking out just a little more by selling the 415 and buying a 416.

The Orion 3200's will fit with no mods at all and the 3600 will fit with just 1mm of material removal from the bottom of the bulkhead which can hardly be seen plus it's TCS legal to remove material in order to fit your Lipo!
Just my 2$
