I have just started running a 416X I bought used with the thin Exotek chassis in a Spec GT class on asphalt. Class limit is 21.5 motor, blinky ESC and no less than 5.5 FDR. I'm at 5.56. I'm running a Novak Ballistic with maximum motor timing and a MMP ESC with a Venom 5000 25C Lipo.

Car handles wonderfully but I'm getting my butt kicked on speed. The car has a Spec R gear transmission in the rear.

Can I still use the 2.055 internal ratio for calculating FDR with the Spec R setup?

Yes the internal gear ratio should remain the same. When you say you're getting your butt kicked.. Do you mean you're out motored on the straight?

Hi there guys,

Found this forum whilst googling for a 416 pinion. I've recently brought a 416 roller but struggling to find a pinion that meshes well. What pitch do the spurs have? I have a 70t spur and looking to put a BL system in and 50/50 drift, so was looking at like 17/18/19t pinion. Any help???

Much appreciated

Sorry for the delayed response. I hate it when people do that.

Anyway, yes I was getting badly out motored on the straights. I put a Hacker Skalar 21.5 in and it took care of the problem. No gear change or anything else.

Thinking the Novak 21.5 needs some care and feeding. Interestingly I use the same motor with an 8.5 stator in another car and it gets up and goes. Only a little slower than 7.5s in the class.

With 17-19 pinion you will probably need a spur that's around 105 for it to mesh. I don't know what fdr is required for drift

I think the Novak 21.5 is a bit slow.. I run it against silver cans in Mini class and am way under powered.

Are there any other belts that work with the 416X? The one from the manual, 54143 seems to be pretty hard to find and was wondering if it was replaced with a different part #.

Its out of stock at Tamiya, not out of production. The 54143 is the low friction.. there is also 51343 which is the standard belt..

http://www.tamiyausa.com/items/radio...-(front)-51343

If you prefer the low friction, then it is in stock at amp draw

http://www.ampdraw.com/product.php?u...roductid=12524

If you are not in the US, then ebay / rcmart-dinball has it in stock as well

Yes they are. Sus arms are same ones used on 417. New ones from 418 will fit as well. Belts and pulleys are still in production
