Hi Tim

Is yours being shipped from Speedtech? I pre-ordered two and haven't had any confirmation that they've shipped them yet?

I was hoping to get them before Christmas but it's looking very unlikley now.

Also I've read over the last few pages that a number of people already had theirs and were off to try them out yet no one has let us know how they are!?!

Come on peeps! Us eager, frustrated preorderers who haven't got them yet would love to know!!

The car is really good. I set it up as per the manual and it was good but slight oversteer. The more I went to my WE set-up the better it got. Seems to be a bit better balanced so its a little easier to drive but it doesn't sacrifice any corner speed. Some more track time and it will be really good.

So initial thoughts are that I like it more than the WE

-Front and rear bulkheads are different(but you could run the old front bulkhead as a tuning aid)
-motor is 1mm closer to center
-diff is placed further back
-chassis is wider at the front
-top deck is different
-battery position is the same as original 416
-the rear bulkhead set-up is just different, instead of 2 screws holding the rear of the topdeck its now 4
-other little stuff like no more flanged bearing on the center layshaft bearing

I should have mentioned I run on carpet, I think the box set-up would actually work very well on asphalt.

Default 416X

i took mine for the first test run yesterday. as a previously "only" owned a 415 msxx the 416x is a vast improvement. very easy to drive even with the kit setup. a few changes made to the setup, and the car was almost a "weapon". could do very good laptimes on our local track. sofar, i transferred some 416 and WE setups and they all worked good.

main differences i noticed are the wider bulkheads in front i think, the changed battery position and the diff which is moved more to the back. all in all a great ride.

What did you change to move towards your WE setup? Also, what parts do you recommend for the 416X for carpet rubber tire racing?

dsyed1 - I'm getting the touring car bug again...

I went to white/blue springs. up to 5mm on the front inner link. 4mm on the rear inner link and removed the .5mm roll center shims from under the rear blocks. went from an F block to a D block(2.5 rear toe) That was it, but I'm going to put my whole WE set-up on the car for Sunday. I even used the kit shock oil which I didn't mind. Just wanted to see how the box stock set-up performed.

As far as what it "needs" for carpet. I don't think it needs anything for handling purposes some say changing to the hard 46mm swingshafts make the spool outdrives last longer, the IFS c-hubs, some steel ball connectors instead of the aluminum. I don't hit too much so I just leave the stock stuff on and haven't had any issue's.

I would suggest getting some suspension blocks tho. 1D's for the front(widens it out for carpet) and a 1C, 1D, 1E for tuning the rear toe. The 3.5 degrees the stock set-up has is great for mod but overkill for anything else.

I have the split blocks as well but only plan to use them on asphalt.

here are some pics:

lol...well the first pic came out great, just need to steady your hands bro.
So did the kit include titanium steering tie-rods and the ESC ramp? Or did you add those?
