Hey Mac853, we try to answer all our emails. But, sometimes a few will slip through the cracks. Especially since our SPAM filter likes to eat emails on daily basis. We upgraded servers recently, in which quite a few emails were lost. But, that's a rare instance. Email us any time: [email protected].

I spoke directly to Tamiya USA earlier this week, and the release date they're sticking to is January 2008. Of course, if the kits come in earlier, we will ship them earlier.

Please keep us in mind for all your Tamiya purchases... and Kyosho for that matter, too.

Cheers,
Jeff

I am a local racer here in socal and when I started to shop for sedans I was convinced that I was going to get a 416. I currently race a Tamiya mini cooper and when trying out all of the other sedans it was a toss up between the 415 and the TC5. So I was talking to David Jun of Tamiya and I asked him what the difference between the 415mre and the 416 and he said there are 30 different incrementel/small changes that with a consistant driver could shave a tenth off per lap. Also there is no plan for a new car of this class due out for a while is what he said its not like they are going to put out a new car every 6 months.

You always need to email Masa at RC Champ.
You find a link to the email address on their website
http://www.rc-champ.co.jp/Champ_Inte...onal_index.htm

RC Champ is very reliable and has very good prices

Tamiya has told Masa that the release date will be Dec 20.
Masa will take preorders for a nice price. Email him....

This situation it's very common in past times, when the kits come with twice diffs and spool which isn't invented yet, i have run YR4 and Xpress, the difference of them are just 1 included center oneway instead of other are full pulley.
If you feel understeer on your car with spool, maybe you could try to run with twice diff. But you should have more work to do, diff plate, spring, thrust bearing, diff screw and ball diff must to change double.

The TRF416 seems to be a atlas design again.

Why do you think it's an Atlas design?

I would have though the the Atlas stickers are because he's running an Atlas battery...

I think you re confusing Atlas with Tech racing.
Tech racing was the company that worked on the design of the tamiya trf cars, especially the 415 version.

My bet is on the batteries from atlas, along with maybe some tools.. definitely no car design.

Regardless if it is designed by Atlas or Tech Racing. It is a Tamiya owned after all.

That aside, it is exciting that the TRF416 is already winning even before its official release.

Congrats to Marc and Tamiya on the recently concluded JMRCA race in Japan!! Way to go Marc!

I just may get my hand on this new machine....

Wonder if Marc was using the exact same car which will be released in Dec.
Else, there may be a new version (yes, even before the official car was released), TRF416 MRE.

I am just thinking along this line...
TRF415MSXX - Marc used a special setup for his victory in Reedy 2007, out came TRF415MSXX MRE.

Where do you Tamiya types go for your setups? Is there a central repository or something?

If a guy was considering getting his first Tamiya, what kind of stuff would he want to get? I imagine there's some kind of spring set to acquire, and maybe a sway bar set? Anything else? I'm in the market for a new rubber/carpet car, and the 416 is on my short list.
