I am currently using the Krypton 10 x1 with this setup
Orion 2/6 Silver Brushes
Standard Springs
5 Degrees Timing
Final Ratio 6.92
The motor runs fine but the only problem is that the brushes become blue after every run with hardly any comm wear.
Anyone else had the same problems???

Thanx for your input.
I used the same set up with the actron brushes too and had the same problem.
I also tried 3 Degrees timing and went up a couple of teeth in gearing - but it wasn't as fast.
The motor seems to be geared properly and is very consistant throughout the race and gives me plenty of runtime.

Idea for you to try then: Bump the timing up, something like 12-18+ degrees, and gear down a tooth or two on the pinion. That will put the motor into the high-end RPM power band that it likes for more of a lap. Your low-timing setup with more gear could be making it lug along and any sort of bogging (even if maybe it’s not immediately noticeable) will definitely heat up the brushes.

I heard that you should just stick with the 766 Brush...it is the same brush that come with and performs very well in the Reedy Ti motors but it is the laydown version.
