Default Mamba 6900 question

From what I read a mamba 5400 with the right lipo's and gearing is faster than the 7700, but there isn't any info on their site about the new 6900? Does anyone know which one is the fastest now?

Default 5700 is faster.........

The 5700 can be faster because you can use 3S LiPo with this motor which will create more speed than a 6900 or 7700. You will exceed the RPM limitation with 3S on a 6900 or 7700.

Where did you find that info, because I can't find it anywhere on Castle's website. I was trying to find the cell limit on the 6900.

Here's one link about the 7700 -
HTML Code:
http://www.castlecreations.com/support/faq/faq-mamba.html#max12
It talks more here about the limits. It only states the 4600 and 5700 are OK for 3S -

This link also references the cut-off voltage settings for controlling punch and tourque -

I've read all of that, but It looks like they haven't updated their tuning page with the new 6900 motor.

I've spoken with them directly about this and that is the correct information about the 2 cell limit on the 6900 & 7700. They told me that the physical limitations of the motors are about 60K to 70K RPM at which point the motor will literally start to self-destruct. I've owned both the 5400 & the 7700 and can tell you that the 7700 does put way more strain on all your components both drivetrain & electronics. If you're trying to decide which one to buy, take that into consideration, too. You will have more flexibility with the 5400, but it depends on whether you are willing to spend the money on both 2 & 3 cell lipos.
