Iīd changed the gearing quite a bit with the Nosram motor but only resulted in that I dumped to a lesser extent but still dump. Far less power than with the GM motor though. I will do more testing with the GM gear and see if I can find a good gear ratio that both provides power and runtime.

my friend has another problem, his dr speed 5.5t #97255 after 2 minutes of driving gets hot and finally stops. Even on GM esc engine doesn't go flawless, it stops sometimes. Any idea what can it be?
Other question is if I can get anywhere power which GM esc can handle continuosly, current is ok, but I don't thing it doesn't matter what is voltage I have Genius 40, 85 and 95. Do you have such a data?

what gearing do you use with the dr speed motor?
I'd say you killed the magnet due to overgearing which makes the motor get hotter every time

That is my friends engine, he has gear ratio 8:0,so it doesn't seem scary. Motor had max 70 degrees C measured, esc is Hacker Master Car Sport, timing 30, amp limit 45. On Genius 40 with amp limit 42 it is not drivable at all.

A 5,5T is not meant to be used with a genius 40 anyway!
8.0 seems quite long
try to lower the gearing
and check motor and car for broken bearings or any parts keeping the car from beeing smooth

We found something inside the engine, piece of some cable, maybe sucked from surface. But magnets little worn, but do work, I don't know about winding
Genius 40 makes his job great with 4.5T even with current limit set to 42 amps and gear ratio 10.5 driving on LiIon and A123 Belivie me, small but great controller fighting hard to survive since my Genius 80 lost Fets, 85 has been still for over one month on his way from Graupner and 95 with new software is coming tommorrow
On this little G40 I drove 4s1p with over 500W engine for a while and he did it Everyday driving with current limit is no problem at all, even when outside is 25 deg. C. Really great controller with size of cell battery!
Anyway any idea about Genius powers? I am wondering how moch current I can let them go bei 9.9 and 13.2V (3s on G95 and 4s a123 on G85)?

Any chance of a price and release date for the GM 120
Always liked GM, use there mod motors, great power, only reason i havnt jumped on the speedo wagon, is the price...Ģ200+ here in the UK
And regarding the programming of it, what happens if you dont like the feel, and want to change something at the track? Can you still do that.

Is it normal to get less runtime in a 7T delta by changing the rotor from 13mm to 12.5mm with the same gearing and timing?

#327
Yes of course as a smaller rotor requires a shorter gearing
if you do not change the gearing accordingly you will get less runtime

Tnx martin
I'll try with a lower gearing this time.By the way,the GM 7T delta with a 12.5mm magnet is awesome and if i can find the proper gearing it will be "the perfect motor".

Gregor my German bike parts supplier is getting a GM pro motor in for me. So anyone in the uk that wants one ask him he is very good. http://www.rc-motorradshop.de/

Microtech racing sell the GM pro motors, or should i say GM pro motor, seeing as they only do the 6T delta, dont see any reason they couldnt bring in the 7T and 8T aswell
