Any idea what speedo and settings Marc Fisher was using at the 1/12th stock EC last week?
It looked like a 90 out of it's case.

hehe lots of PT folks flooding GM thread my turn
Damn rain doesnt stop,no training then.
I've tried mode 8 and its pretty fast but motor temps are a bit insane.
Since we are running 2S lipo here, maybe mode8 or mode6 copied to mode3 are more secure. What do you think?
Here is my doubt: Im currently on mode6 copied to mode3 lets imagine I wanna try mode8 copied to mode3.
Should I previously do a factory reset to pick a clean mode3 or just load mode8 with transmitter then pick mode3 thru AS-tool?
Thanks.

Hi
It does not make a difference wether mode 6 is copied to mode 3 or mode 8.
for 2s lipo I would really suggest to run mode 3, or if you still suffer heat problems even mode 6.
Outdoors fans are a big plus.
Temps are ok up to around 90°C.
Hottest I ever tested with a GM motor was 118°C with the motor still working, but this is very close to the edge.
Lrp can handle a little more heat (128 hottest I ever tested *g*)
But to be secure 80 - 90°C should be your personal max.

Hi,
Just bought a GM Genius 120 and I'm looking for a good setup/profile for driving it with a LRP 13.5t and 2s lipo. Anybody who can give some advice... Really happy with it!
Any suggestions on the gearing to start with for outdoor asphalt? I was thinking to start around 5.0 on a medium large track.

Tips and Tricks:
Mode 8 is only for 13.5T and for 1:12, if the motor temperature is lower as 60°C in the other modes.
For using Mode 3 with 6.5T it's good with the original background values.
To use the Mode 3 with 9.5T and with 13.5T you need to adjust the Mode 6 with the radio and then switch the mode with the PC to Mode 3.
SwitchStartMode value at reading out in the white field must show a value between 200 and 250.
Use lower gearing!
For 2 LiPos and 9.5T-10.5T the Mode 6 should be best.
Even with 5 cells a lot of good drivers still use Mode 6 to keep the temperature of the motor low enough and they still finish with good results.
Only very smooth drivers with perfect car set-up use Mode 3.
If the motor temperature with 13.5T is still lower as 80°C, you may use Mode 3 with lower gearing, of cause.

One more quick question.. (sorry)
I did all the steps as mentioned before (picked mode 8 by transmitter, and changed a few things and sent it back to the speedo.) The thing I was wondering now is; do I have to pick mode 3 now by the transmitter or does it still need to be in mode 8? Can't find it anywhere, neither at Hofers blog.
Thanx in advance!

you changed to mode 3 via pc software right?
so now the ESC is in mode 3 already
but from now on you will want to choose the mode via transmitter so don't mess up the background programming anymore

Martin,
What setting do you recommend for Genius 90 in 10.5 12th scale?
Thanks
