Crew, I used my carpet US 007 for asphalt season last year. I used this setup:
http://forum.teamxray.com/xform/inde...9&setup=t2_007
by Korey H. I used cardboard in the front diff to turn it into a spool. RP30 tires on cool asphalt and it was dialed. On the one hot race I was at traction was way down, maybe I needed the EU or firmer tires.

Ps what will i gain from a multi diff. Do i need to have them on the front and rear of the car.
I wouldn't bother running the us spec chassis, even with the EU chassis on pavement the 2mm top deck IMO is money. I would see if you could get your hands on the chassis and topdeck. Since its a year and change old you should be able to get one cheap.

Right, got my car (5cell EU), but with my pack in the chassis (Orion 4800 LiPo), the pack is wedged under the top deck and there's no movement.

How do you fit it in, without rasing the top deck up? It looks like I'm going to have to trim the battery decal off.

I've just built my T2'008 EU, just wondering what advantages are to be gained from running the alt pulleys 34T/20T as opposed to the kit set-up 38T/16T?

Originally, the 38/16 were supposed to offer superior handling on rubber tires (something about the drag characteristics). That combo tended to wear out the belts rather quickly, though, and now you'll see 34/20 on most cars. I suppose the effects on handling cannot be too negative...even Teemu ran the 34/20 combo when he dominated the world's top drivers at the TITC!

Default Belst and pulley kit

While we are still talking about the plley conversion, The xray forums talk about using: And i quote.....

"small (M3x2.5) setscrew from the Last Aid Bag must be used to ensure that it does not protrude from the pinion gear and/or touch the belt"

My question, as dum as it sounds, but were do you use the screw????

And does it realy make that big a defference? (im just lazy and dont want to strip it all down to do the change unless its gonna make a really big defference!)

Cheers

Simon

It is supposed to be used in your pinion gear.

when running the 34T/20T pulleys on an EU spec car do you need to run the diffs in the lower US spec position?
