Jack or anyone, what tires would you suggest for running modified foam on asphalt? We've been trying the Nitro shoes but it's tough to get any steering with them. I'm guessing some of the TC tires might work better. What would work good without wearing out too fast. I would imagine something like double pink would wear out pretty quickly.

the lilac is a 38 shore tire, that might be your best bet on asphalt with tire wear and traction.

The new Jaco sedan tire is awesome. I found it much better than the wagon wheel wrap.

Yes. We are working on a very interesting Prism design for nitro. Stay tuned....

(2) a track like The Gate, or Cleveland Nationals, using Paragon or open compound choice, grip usually med to high even very high

I'm just trying to figure out which tires to start with that get me in the ballpark most of the time. Also if I am going to ask my LHS to order these, I want something that is likely to work for most of our locals too.

I would start with double pink (6135) all the way around. Perhaps glue the edges of the front tires with CA to take away a little steering. Work with the car before dialing it in with tire compounds. When you get it good, then fine tune it with other compounds. You may also want double pink/orange (6160) on the front if the steering is too sensitive with the double pinks.

Lilac is good, but I would run purple if you can. It will wear better (especially on the front). The nitro tires may work if you run very soft (35) fronts with firm (42) rears.

How did the new sedan wheel design perform out at the IIC?

Haven't seen anybody mention it.

Quite well, actually. We had 7 out of 10 mod drivers on our tires. We TQ'd and won 19 turn (on 2-stage), and we got 2nd in stock. We won stock 1/12 and mod 1/12 and TQ'd both classes. There were more A-main drivers on JACO foams than any other brand. According to the hobby shop, JACO outsold the next leading brand at least 10 to 1. All in all, considering the success of our rubber tires too, it was a fantastic weekend for us.

Well fellas,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the JACO 1/12th Prisms flex too much for 1/12th oval. The outer 5 spoke area is fine, but the inner portion of the wheel flexes too much. To my surprise, I discovered that the bottom of the kingpin touches the wheel under compression. The kingpin had worn a groove into the wheel. To confirm this yourself, put a 0.20" spring in, using your thumb, push the tire up, the wheel flexes and the kingpin touches the wheel. (This does not happen with the other 38mm competing manufacturer wheels.)

The Prisms work fine for the other 3 wheels, but currently, I can't use them on the right front (at least when it comes to oval, I have not tested for road course).

Did you TQ and/or win? Stacking the field by giving tires to at least 70% of all mod sedan entries isn't impressive.

Not the new wheel, as I asked about. How about the rest of the 19 turn field? Didn't see you mention that as you proudly did in mod.

mr. toot - jacos were sold 10:1, but another tire got 8 of the top 10 spots in stock sedan, and 7/10 in 19t and TQ/WINS in stock and mod foam. not sure who was buying all of the jacos up, but it wasn't the guys in the sedan mains.
