Micro VS 1/10
 

First off, I decided not to post this in the micro thread because I thought they'd side with the micros for sure. So, I know I posted a thread the other day asking about two 1/10 scale cars, but the more I have been thinking about it, the micros have been sounding better and better from what little I know. So I have a few questions about micros vs normal ones. 1)How fast are the average stock micros (such as the rs4 micro). 2)Are the micros as upgradeable as 1/10 scale. 3)what do you guys prefer? 4)what are some good micros for a beginner, but I'm not that noobish, I'm just stepping out of nitro into electric. 5) are micros easier to maintain than 1/10.

1) Depending what motor/esc combo you use either can go way faster then is driveable.

2) Pretty much.

3) Personally I prefer 1/12th pan cars :)

4) 4wd probably the Xray is the way to go...2wd I'd go for the Scalpel. Those are of course on-road options. There are also off-road ones too.

i'm talking on road, unless there are some rally ones that i don't know about... and thanks for the input.

also, I'm figuring since the 1/10's are bigger; pebbles, bumps in the road, and such will not effect them as much as a micro. is that true? and how bad can these things effect the cars?

1) depends on what you call "stock". a 180 motor and 6 cells is good for about 15mph
2) you could build an m18 without using a single xray part
3) its realy a personal opinion. 1/10 is more tunable, but 1/18 is more durable
4) no choice realy, for a 1/18 TC th eonly way to go is xray
5) maintinence would be the same as an electric TC

unless the surface your running on is extremely smooth, it could get pretty intresting with a micro. If youre looking for something smaller than 1/10 but can handle some bumps i would suggest the sportwerks recoil it uses micro electronics but has enough suspension to handle rougher pavemnt
