CRC 3.2 vs 3.2r
Can someone explain to me the primary differences between the CRC 3.2 and the 3.2r? Also, are all available parts compatible for the carpet Knife seiries of cars? (i.e. can I upgrade my 3.2 with gen-X parts, etc.)

Hey Jack 8P
As far as I know, the difference between the 3.2 and 3.2r isn't much. The 3.2r comes with all red anodized aluminum stuff, the 3.2 is silver. Same parts tho. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 3.2 has a thinner chassis too. The Gen-X is a completely different car. New chassis, rear pod, front end. You can, however put the gen-x front end on the 3.2 and it works real nice on carpet. Thats what I did with my car.
The 3.2 is a great car, it will certainly be competitive if set up correctly.

I know the 3.2r was the red bloddy knife kit cuz I sold one to jon ferran about a year ago. You still racing that kit?
I'm mostly jsut wondering if I need parts/hop-ups if I can get them from the CRC site or at the LHS. My uderstanding is that the whole front-end is based off the RC12L3/L4 and the parts are compatible.

Ya the 12l4 and carpet knife and most other 12th scales use the same associated front end.
I am running an OD12 at the moment, but I used all the parts from the bloody knife plus a gen-x "pro strut" front end for carpet. The crc front end is too twitchy for asphalt, so I use the associated front end sometimes also.
Carpet season this year should be a blast. We have some plans for the track.... plan to see oval racing making an appearance on the carpet. I'm trying to get the carpet track out by mid-late aug. but we'll see what happens. I'm gunna be all up in the 12th scale.
