Default 1/12 or 1/10?

im shure this has been asked befor but i dont see it. im going to get an on road car, i curently race off road. i was looking at the 2 classes and would like to know the general fifferences between the 2 such:
which class is faster?
which is harder to drive?
im looking to get a 1/12 because im on a limited buget, and the associated rc12l4, what do you think of this car? im shure ill have more specific questions later but ill start here.

I was also a long time off road racer before I hit the carpet scene just this past winter. I ran 1/12 stock (mod a few times) and it was very easy on the wallet to race it at club level. A modest investment can get you the equipment to allow you to be competitive at all but the highest levels and not feel "out bought." As far as ease of driving... well I wouldn't say that's an easily answered question. 1/12 and sedan are both easy to drive but the better answer is probably to say that sedan is easier to drive fast. Less than stellar skills will show up in slower lap times more so in 1/12.

12th has faster acceleration, has higher top speed, cuts tighter, and is a blast to drive. People say that the cars are twitcher, partially true. The smaller the chassis, the more of an affect that input, changes and tuning (or lack of tuning) will have on the chassis. Some people will say that 12th is one of the hardest classes to drive and be good at. I disagree, the class is what you put into it. If you spend the few minutes it takes to maintain the chassis, you will be able to maintain a well running car. If you put in the time to create a stellar tune on the chassis, it will award you with a stellar performance. Good luck with your purchase.

The main difference between 10 and 12 scale.....

Is 3 minutes...... 5 minute racers for 10 scale and 8 minutes for 12 scale...

It's not smaller batteries, they are the same cells widely used in all classes. It's just fewer cells; same capacity but lower voltage. At nearly half the weight they draw fewer amps so they can run longer.
