Another gearing question

Hi guys, ok my t1 with a 99 spur and a 28 pinion it gives me a 7.51 gearing ratio, now with 120 spur and a 34 pinion it gives me a 7.50 gearing
can someone explain me what the difference is between the 2 setups?

(Are you related to RTO666?)

The difference is nill. A very fine tuning option and probably not niticable to most people. Even differences of .10 are sometimes hard to detect for the average person. Use performance and Motor temperature to determine YOUR correct Gearing.

I personally use the Final Drive Ratio calculation when selecting gearing. I find it useful when compare Gearing to the same Motor in other People's Cars.

hi pops, heh no not related to RTO666
what i was asking was, what the 120/34 combo do to my motor compared to the 99/28 combo, will it get hotter, will it have more torque on the start?
i know that a .1 difference won't be noticeable, i just don't understand what the difference is between the 2 combos.

it's spur/pinion*transmition ratio of your car
ex: 120/34*2.125 for xray t1=7.50

Probably the only difference noticed will be the fact that the weight of the motor will be placed slightly differently. In a pan car, this can make some difference due to the low weight of the cars themselves.... but in TC's and off road vehicles - the difference will be nearly negligible
