Taping batteries

I have an upgraded TAO4R and im wondering what the best way is to tape the battery and what kind of tape to use.

TAO4R,

Try to find a thin, fiber re-enforced strapping tape, like the ones they use to close boxes.

RCBuddha,

TAO4R lives in HK. I doubt there is a Home Depot, let alone a Lowes and OSH there.

what about velcrow straps? cuz doesn't the tape make the battery sticky?

jiggamacdaddy 05-01-2003 08:55 AM

actually i dont know the part number but tamiya does make straping tape. you might want to check their website or give them a call. my buddy is sponserd by them an i think personally there straping tape is the best.:D

My HPI Pro2 had a velco battery hold down system. I worked kind of nice. Tape can be sticky, but it depends on the tape you use.

if you use regular fiber re-enforced tape you run a good chance of cutting the tape on sharp edges of the chassis on a sudden hit. try getting some good strapping tape that wont break in a hard hit.

what ever you do dont use velcros i used velcro's on my trf414m. it falls off during big hits. i thought the ta04 had the plastic holders on it????

this stuff should do the job
the tamiya one like the person who said it earlier

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGS14&P=7

its thin so it wont scrape the ground. its super strong.

it good stuff but i rather have the trf come with some carbon fiber peice that comes over the battery

I just got my Integy battery strap long. Fit well. I also found SpeedMerchant battery strapping tape from Hobby ETC.

3M and Tamiya both make fibre glass reinforced tape, the 3M is thicker and cheaper here in Australia.

The tapes doesn't make the batteries sticky which it very good

The roll of tape I use is Scotch Brand #898. Tough stuff and doesn't leave goo on the batteries.
