Default Storing away NiCd's for a long time..

Whats the best thing to do to store away NiCd's over a long period of no use (1-2 years)?

I have 4 x Sanyo 2400s, I have discharged them , but have done nothing else.

Any hints on what to do to store these batteries away for a long time?

it would be better to sell them unless you want to keep them for practice packs. if you keep them try to cycle them once a month and they will keep better

I agree with the other ppl, if you dont plan on using for more than a year just sell them.

Otherwise, the best way to store Nicds is to dead short them.

one pereson told me to put it in the refrigerator... i dont know if it works. it slows down the discharging rate. i dont know if they will be as good as first. its works for about 3 months. but if your going to use them after 2 years then before you use them let them sit for about 3 days so they warm up to room temp. i did some research i found this site. thats what they said.

i never tried it. i dont think it can hurt your battery. again i dont think........

you can give them to me i'll have them

You'd pay more for the shipping from Australia then it would cost you to go out and buy some 2400's.

I still use some sanyo 2000s that have really good punch. I always use them though so they stay in really good shape.

Yeah, the 2000s have awesome punch. Mine are actually pushing 2500mah on my pulsar! You can charge them at a really high amperage and they don't get hot. I love them in stock, but I would save my 3300 for my mod racing.
