Hi guys, just had my first outing last night in Level4's old DB12RR. I used a set-up on here for a lipo battery that did not work that well for me, using the SMC 25c 4000mah pack. I dialed the car in throughout the qualifiers and by the main the car was very composed, very fast, yet easy to drive. Our track is a VERY small, very tight, high bite, Jack the Gripper ozite. While I'm not the best driver of the bunch it was easy to see the car was working well.
Front springs: BMI .020 Linear
Kingpin Lube: 20,000wt.
Camber: -2.0*
Toe: 0*
Upper arm mount: 5*
Caster shims: Back
Up travel: .25mm
Servo: JR Z3650 flat/forward
Ride height: 3.5mm
Width:166mm
Compound: Blackhawk Magenta
Size: 42mm
Additive: Jack
Amount: Full
Rear shock oil: 50wt.
Shock spring: Gold
Pod droop: 1mm
Front Ball stud: Tall
Tube Lube: 10,000wt.
Flex plates: Thin, forward mount
Flex pre-load: Screws in, but just off chassis
Battery: Forward
Ride height: 3.5mm
Width: 172mm
Compound: Blackhawk Yellow
Size: 45mm
Additive: Jack
Amount: Full
Parma Speed8 mounted slightly forward
LRP Sphere comp 2007 with TQ booster
Spektrum SR3100 receiver
Tekin 13.5
40 pinion/72 spur
SMC 1s 4000 mah 25C Lipo
Car just tickles past the 730g mark and balances perfectly with zero weight added.
The only downside, was that tire wear was suprisingly higher than expected.

My setup has evolved alot from what I ran at the Halloween race. I have the car carrying alot more corner speed now and Jason asked me to post where I'm at now. Still have a few more things to try, so I'll work on things more at the NEGS race at The Track next weekend. That will give me a good chance to see what we've gained against some good competion.
Front:
BMI .022 linear springs #4 surelube on pins
6 deg castor
5 deg blocks
Long upper arm
1.25 deg camber
servo angled in forward pos.
0 toe
Parma Double Pink tire cut to 1.60
3.5mm ride height
Rear:
New thin Carbon Flex plates, long position, no screws
50 wt in Silva shock w/ stock piston and Gold spring
Medium ball stud one hole forward from rear most pos.
#3 surelube in tubes
3.5mm ride height
1.5mm pod droop
Parma Orange tire cut to 1.70
Parma Speed 8 light body
The biggest gain that I made was lowering the front of the shock down. That change alone was worth almost 2 tenths at the Gate last week. I almost fell off the drivers stand when I heard the lap times called out, couldnt believe that small change made that much difference. Just some things for you guys to try out, seems the car is very sensitive to that adjustment with the lower weight.
As always any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Hey there showtime, thanks for the setup. I just put the cf plates on the car and I am going to give them a try this weekend. Before, the car was extremely dialed. Just a few questions for you.
1) What motor are you running with this setup
2) When you say lowering the front of the shock do you mean taking spacers out under the ball stud on the antenna mount?
3) Is the parma orange the same as the jaco prism orange? (yellow/gray)
thanks again!!

Hey Wiita
Running 17.5 Lipo. You are correct on lowering the front of the shock. You either need to go to a shorter ball stud or take spacers out. Yea the parma orange is the same tire on a black rim.
Good luck with the new plates, I think they will only make your car better.

Actually blacks should be 40 not 35. As Parma is the same Jaco tire, this will be handy for you: http://bmiracing.com/bmiv4/index.php...d=15&Itemid=30

And if Jaco is still using the last two numbers in the model (for example: 2742 for Prism Black fronts) then black in a Jaco is a 42, not a 40.

Hey mike, Since throwing that setup on the car that you reccomended the car has been extremely dialed. Just switched to the new cf thin plates and have yet to run them. Have you tried them yet? any setup changes? Thanks again mike!!!

Yep, I wish we were running 13.5 but the NEGS rules are 17.5 or 10.5. Going to run some 10.5 soon it looks like way too much fun to miss out on. One good thing about 17.5 lipo is, tire wear is almost non existent. At the halloween race I ran the same pair of tires for 2 practice rounds and 3 qual rounds and they only wore .030". I chunked one so I put new ones on for Sunday or I would have ran the same set all weekend.
