All the current front ends need attention and care when building to insure the caster is the same on both sides. I think the R5 front end is the easiest to adjust and tune out of the big 3.

hmm I may have to build me a R5 front end to try out. I have the CRC front end and didnt like it much, the R5 though... Hmmm Anyone have a complete parts list for what is all needed to run the R5 Front?

All the screws are metric but the king pin, shims and axles are standard. I have BMI alum pivot balls in mine and there way better than the stock plastic ones.You could probably build the whole front for around $50 to $60, depending on how much stuff you have on hand. The front end IS all new so old L4 upper a arm ends and spindles WONT fit. I think the axles are diffrent too but dont have an old axle on hand to check. Plastic is CHEAP !! Probly $12 in the whole front end. LOL.
The adjustability is awesome. You can shim the width two diffrenet ways and adjust roll centers easily too.

Naw man, its not a dumb question, don't sweat it That part from Hyperdrive with let you use the R5 front end on all of the BMI 1/12th and 1/10 cars nimh and Lipo.

but if you read the link carefully it says "Mounts are drilled and tapped for 8-32 screws to bolt to chassis." Only I don't know how high are the arms, if the current sizes will fit, cause the BMI spacers are supposed to replace also the plastic shims on IRS arms.. All the current sizes might be too thick for R5 front end.

Ah yes that is true...haven't been getting much sleep getting ready for IIC. However looking at the 12R5s we have running locally they seem to just use a few thin washers to get the right ride height. Given that the BMI spacers may be too tall even if the hole is right...they might work just fine too...won't know until someone tries it.

Will the 3-32 screw fit through the hole on the shim since they are designed for a 4-40 screw?
