How many people use a stiff antenna tube just to have the stiff tube for the roll over help?

I dont like the looks of the tube sticking out of the body, but the stiff bube seems to be on pretty much everyones car

Because with spektrum, theres no reason for big tube IMO

Does your body clear the speedo and or the battery tabs....

I ran my car this weekend w/o the roll over antenna and the car seemed to handle differnt. I was also trying a new car and body (parma spd 8). It took two races to get used to it.

I didn't like too much. I'll go back to having the antenna through the cockpit.

The best reason I have heard to run the stiff tube isn't for rollover protection. It was to stop your car quicker. If it is sliding on it's roof the marshal normally can't get to it as quick. Of course there are the times it seems to act more like a pole vault than anything else.

The battery tabs have plenty of room. Some of my packs get used in my 1/10 oval car too, so it limits my options for the tabs.

The speedo clears, but is really close. This is with a speed12 and speed12b. The speed 8 has tons of room.

I'm running the speed12 and no way mine would clear Glad they don't check roof height on 12th scale

I have a ways to go before I need to worry about slamming the body on my car. That would only make up for two or three wall hits.

Fifteen years of racing carpet and dirt oval followed by a five year break doesn't translate well into going fast immediately in 1/12.
