Were you able to confirm with Jason on fitment of the Reedy or TP 1s packs in the lipo chassis? I really want to order one myself.

Not yet. I'm still rather torn on which packs to order. The Reedy ones are not in stock at Stormer though so it looks like I'm deciding between the new SMC and the TP. I'm leaning toward the SMC right now because I can get them with bullet connectors. I'm looking at my car now trying to figure out how I would wire it if I decide to go with a Deans connector.

There's a pic a few pages back of someone's car with the TP pack in it and it fits. As for the milled out area I zoomed in on the chassis pic on the BMI website and it looks like it goes from the center of the tape slot to the center of the other tape slot which is 91mm. Depending on how much the edges of the pack are curved will determine how well they fit. The Reedy pack at 93mm is going to just about cover up the tape slots which will make taping in the battery a bit on the difficult side even if it fits.

Yep thats the reason I've been holding off on buying the lipo chassis, I really would like one but would also like to see if the size of the packs will continue to change first. I think I have a pic of the SMC w/deans in my 12r if you are still looking for one.

No thanks...I'm really trying to go for a pack that doesn't use Deans. They are great connectors, but I just can't get them wired as neatly as I would like in 1/12th scale. I looked around for some of the Reedy packs too and those seem to be sold out or not yet in stock everywhere. I think I'll end up with the SMC 4940SI as soon as I get confirmation on their legality at IIC.

Thay are a pain alright, I'm looking to pick up a couple of the buillet connector type myself, might wait for the new speedzone and get a brick and saddle style. Still have a couple of t-bars sittenon the shelf.

Just got my new LiPo chassis in today and man am I pleased Not only is the chassis beautifully machines as always (especially the indentation for the LiPo) but the servo mount slots have been moved over so that my JR servo will bolt right in without having to drill new holes! Thanks Jason!!!!

Default Oh Dear

1st time out since Nov 08 national in the UK

broke the two pivot blocks on 1st run, about 5 laps in

http://www.rcracechat.com/vb/attachm...2&d=1250442364

all was not lost as Charles Butterworth had centre pivot to loan me, thanks CB

Cells had stood untouched since Nov 08 National (baring maybe 3 sort of cycles) but they got better as the day went on. Energ 46's & SHO 42's.

Ran as per PDW advice but not sure what kit is for dampers so went for 7k oil.

Like the cells I not driven 12th since Nov 08 but enjoyed my day out the RR

Car didn't like being driven like 8th off-road and once I got that out of my head all was OK. And 3rd to boot in the A from 13 12ths that ran at Stockbridge on Sunday.

Next outing work permitting is the CARS / AMC Grand Prix in September.

Do I go LiPo or stick with 4 cell
