For the rear, besides bumps, what effect does droop have anyway? I havnt really played with that yet so not too clear on it.DK
As I understand it rear droop only effects how well the car handles bumps. Basicly it allows the shock more travel before it bottoms out. Someone please correct me if I have that wrong

More pod droop will give you more steering on the way into a corner and less steering on the power. It allows a little more weight transfer to happen.

Default Lipo packs

I want to use a Lipo battery in my DB12RR this year. What versions of the SMC Lipos will the new chassis support?

How about the newest SMC pack 4900mah 40C+ (part#4940S)? This dosen't have the wire leads just the bullet plugs.

Do I need a "Lipo" weight as well?

Thanks Greg G

Swamp-
it'll support all of the 1s lipo packs. It seems like a lot of the new comer's to the 1s market are going the bullet route. As for a weighted tray or adding weight that'll depend on your track. the new ROAR rules the weight has been reduced to 730 gr. thus making adding weight a min if needed at all.

Gearing for 120 feet straight away?
Tire: 45 mm

Thanks,

Thanks,
Nice. Looks good. Start with a 3.05 to 3.15 inch roll out to start with the tekin set at 198 software.

Does that battery have cell bumps and if not, do you think tape will be needed?

The battery is flat. The chassis is regular 12RR tape needed.

Well I'm officially IIC bound now I purchased my airfare today and am already signed up. So now I need to learn about this LiPo thing...My question is this: Is SMC still the preferred pack in 1 cell LiPo racing or are any of the new ones coming out better (and IIC legal)? If so besides Mah rating what makes them better? I'm only running 13.5 so I don't expect run time to be an issue with any of the current 1 cell LiPo packs.

As someone else in another thread pointed out (or maybe it was this thread), just take and glue some small lexan or plastic (or cf if you are mad leet) strips to the bottom of the batteries to make the batt sit in the cell slots solid so you dont need to use tape.

The only 2 I have seen around here is SMC and Phantom. The Phantom is a 5000 40c witch we think it is a Thunder power pack. Runs stronger, longer than the 4000 smc with a bit more punch. It has wires and a deans on it so not sure if its IIC legal. Im personally waiting for the smc 40c or the reedy 35c.

Just got back from another points race. I have just one word to discribe the chassis............Dialed !! A new 40c pack would help in the power department but the rest is golden.

The original SMC 25c 4000mah pack, and the new Thunder power 40c 5000mah(which as mentioned is being rebadged and sold under several names) are the only two on the market that I know of. Both of these come with deans plugs attached. SMC has a new 40c 4900mah pack that is availible in HK, and Reedy is in the works on a one as well. Both of these will have barrels for 4mm pin connectors, but I dont know if either of these will be approved or avalible for IIC.
