hi guys just a quick question, on all the setups ive seen on here for the bmi the trend seems to be running the servo flat, can i just ask the diffferce to handling running them flat and angled, and also the forward/backward mounting holes.

Typically you will see carpet setups with flat servos and asphalt setups with an angled servo.

Hey Jason, sent in the updated order, just need the total

Jason,

Got the car yesterday. All I can say is wow.....Nice quality. I should have paid you to put it together for me though. I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel for me here at work.
Can't wait to get that bad boy together.

Thanks....

Hey guys. Got a problem and cant think of what it could be.

Same layout as last week. my fast lap was 10.6 and could keep them in the high tens long enough to get a slow 44 lap run.

I changed shock spring from red to gold and 40wt to 35wt. Couldnt find black fronts so I had magenta frt, yellow rear. Could get mid 10s but too inconsistent to keep them in the 10s.
Next was damper tubes from 10k to 20k. A little too thick so i put a drop or two of shock oil on them. So maybe 15k? Car didnt slow down any but was more controllable. Then I found a set of black frts. Now the car was dialed. Smooth but responsive. Turned and stuck everywhere and was super consistent but.............It would not go past 10.7. It did hover around 10.9-11.1 for most of the race.

Everybody else got .3 faster this week.

Any ideas on witch way to go with the car? HP was good so Im thinking corner speed but how do you get more corner speed with out adding tons of steering?

DK

Edit: The setup is to the book (old car) save for bmi .020 spring, 7000 on king pins and 15000 in tubes and with set screws holding tweak.

What piece of dinamic caster you go? , if possible if the track conditions are very different, your front end scrub in the curve, and you lost a lot speed.

Greetings, Luis C.

Didn't you go to the black fronts initially because of the glazing? Did you have glazing/build up on the magentas?

Now that you have black fronts again perhaps going back to the red spring would help as that was your original setup. Might be just a little too stuck in the back...just a guess

The Blackhawks are the same rim and tire as the Jaco Prisms...As for what compound to use I couldn't say...we run asphalt out here.

It was pretty locked in but didnt feel like it was killing the steering. Could get threw most of the infield at 90 to 100% throttle. No glazing on either tire. The magenta and black felt really close to each other but magenta was a touch skattier (is that a word?). Middle of the run it didnt want to lock on to the line. Maybe a magenta/pink combo would free it up with out getting lose? The balance is good and dont want to change that.

Another thing is the tires are losing .5mm ride height every run. There just grinding down to nothing fast. I am running the 12b body right now. I have a HD body mounted, just have to paint it for next week. Think that will help with tire wear?

Mike, have you tried that setup with a 1s lipo? Just wondering if you changed anything for the lighter weight.

Hey Chris try this:

Your going to have to set your car up just a little softer. I spoke to Jason and he told me to try this:

40w oil start with the gold spring. Move your shock mount to the forward setting.Try out the longer setting on the flexplates and see how that is. #3 IRS sure lube in the tubes and king pins. Im going to do some more practicing in the next few weeks i'll be able to post more detailed stuff This setup above is with out a lipo plate.

Hope this helps so far the car handles very well with this setup above. I cant wait to do some more 1/12th Lipo racing this winter If you have anymore question's feel free to ask.

Default Will the new Fantom 1s lipo fit in the milled lipo slot?

It's damn close to the SMC but thought I'd check with you all anyways.

Listed...
1st: SMC 4000mAh/25C 1s lipo dims(LxWxH)
2nd: Fantom 5000mAh/40C 1s lipo dims(LxWxH)

3.63" x 1.83" x 0.78" (92.2mm x 46.5mm x 20.0mm)
3.65" x 1.85" x 0.73" (92.5mm x 46.5mm x 18.5mm)

I'm guessing the height is less for the Fantom as it may not have the 4-cell bumps. Is that an issue?
