You should be fine at the weight you are at. i would check the pod droop. Less pod droop will increase on power steering as will running more castor.

Ever been to 301 raceway in MD? 250ft back straight, and a flowing layout. I'd throw that gear on for that track.

Jason would be better at esplaining the new car i bought the upgrade kit for my db12r, jasons sellen them for 100 bucks

as for lipo smc made a pack however it is not legal yet. also its only 3.7 volts. The lipo deal is still being worked on. You prolly would need a reciever pack to run the lipo

thats what i know

Ok, lets see...

The DB12RR is an evolution of the DB12R. After racing the car for over a year we got to the point where there were enough good racer suggestions, new ideas from Jason and developments in the 1/12th racing class to warrant a new car. Although the RR looks like the old R version there are a ton of changes. If you have a conversion kit and hold the old parts up to the new parts you will see what I mean. The RR really is a new car.

Here is the full scoop on the DB12RR: http://www.redrc.net/2008/11/bmi-rac...scale-chassis/

Single cell Lipo is in testing now. Racers are figuring out what you need to do as far as gearing, motors and how to keep your electronics working for 8 min on 3.7v. The latest generations of NiMh cells are a lot tougher than they used to be so for now running normal cells is your best bet.

Default DB12 RR set-ups

Hi Jason,

I'm getting into 1/12th and have decided to go with the BMI. I want to order all the necessary set-up parts with my car kit. The only set-up on the BMI site is for the 12R from last year, will current set-ups be made available soon? I also would need to know what parts I need to complete the set-up that are not included with the car.

thanks,
Eric

The car comes very complete with everything you need in a car. The only thing I would strongly suggest to get is the front ride height spacers. The Silva shock is cool too but the IRS one the car comes with is allready great so there isn't any real need to change it.

Are you referring to these? DB2015 Molded Lower Front Arm Shim Set

or these? DB5311 Front Arm Spacer #1 (5.5mm) I see there are 6 different heights.

The aluminum front arm spacers in 6 different heights. It really makes setting front ride height much easier, very accurate, and looks cool!

Got mine in today too. and it seems it came W/ the siliva shock!

I spent more time building the front end than building the rest of the car... thats such an art to get the front end to be free, but not sloppy. I am actually planning down the road to try out the CRC front end on this car (see buying hop-ups before even getting the car on the track )

But man this thing is F'n nice. The CF looks top shelf, and thick as all gedd'out.

Thanks! Cant wait to get this on the track this weekend.

Thanks for choosing BMI buddy. The parts that will be a must have to complete any of the setups we may come up with is a pair of medium ball studs for the steering blocks, red center spring,.022 front springs(BMI Springs),tall ball studs for the shock mount, and a set of thin flex plates. That should cover you for set up.

The car comes with our latest setup in the back of the manual. This is where we have been starting. You can always contact me on here or via phone or email if you need any help.

The manual's build recommendations are different than the setup sheet in the back. The Build says use 10Deg caster blocks, but the back says 5. and a few other minor differences.

Also the setup sheet looks to be for Mod 1/12th. Is there a setup sheet (I guess I can read back a few pages) for a DB12RR running 4 cell with a 13.5 or a 17.5 stock on a med size med/high bite smooth track?
