I've got fluorescent pink and green sets of those from the late '80's running 1/10 pan. They work ok as long as you run your ride height high, but they become the lowest part of the car so you have to be certain you're not getting your chassis down to 3mm and your battery straps below that...you'd be illegal at that point.

Yeah I used to run them back in the day...but they kept breaking so I switched to the Dan's ones but those were thicker. On our track because of the incline we run on and imperfections in the track I find I have to run a rather high ride height so figured it was worth a try. I've been getting into a lot of accidents lately which keep shifting the battery around with the o-ring which messes up my handling. I really really really dislike using tape and being the race director I really don't have time to tape it either. So hopefully the strap will work out for me. It's really more of a novelty of memory lane though

If yu loop the O-ring over the battery and under the side wings it holds it better but it means a lot more pressure on the 2 side wings.....

I'm gonna figure out a way to put velco on mine....

I'm not saying velcro wont work, but two layers of packing tape (the smooth black stuff with good adhesive) replaced every run is your only true way to not have to resolder your packs after a head on...just my 0.02. OH and very rounded edges so as not to cut the tape in said accident.

Default DB12R takes our 1st 1/12 Series!!!

The DB12R was once again the car to beat last night.
Being that this was the 8th race of our 1/12 Series, and me only running 6 of 'em, I had to TQ and get the win or TQ and get a 2nd for overall champion.
Needless to say the car performed close to flawlessly (gotta figure out the tic of mid-corner steering I'm lacking) and got the win/overall by 12 pts.
No set-up changes from what I last posted except I went back to 5mm ride height and 1.68" Dbl. pink rear tyres/1.62" Magenta fronts.
Now off this weekend to tackle some carpet again

THANKS JASON FOR AALLLLL THE INPUT

I was planning on attaching the velcro to the chassis and not go under the car... Well, that was the plan.....

Sure I'll switch back to tape...if you fly out here and tape them in for me
I just don't have the time at the moment with all that I do at the race allready.

I am racing at the ROAR Region 12 Championships and the DB12R is working very well. Being pretty new to 12th scale racing, have a quick setup question for you guys, Track is a very big outdoor asphalt track with good grip. On the two very high speed turns, the car wants to push and the rear wants to slide from center off under power. Opinions on what to change? Or is it just a driving adjustment?
Shock oil is 35 with 12lb spring
.063 Flex Plates
5000 in tubes, rear holes
20 WT Baby springs in front AE 60K lube
Batts in middle
Ride height varies with tire wear, but trying to keep about ,5mm rake in chassis.
Thanks for the suggestions!

I would recommend you set the rear droop to 1mm and/or use heavier oil in the tubes.

Cool

LAGuy, the droop is a good place to go. But I think you may want to switch to stiffer flex plates 70+.
