I was just wondering if anyone knows what the largest pinion is that can be ran with a 78 spur and a brushless 17.5 motor in this car. I need to buy pinions and a fellow racer said that he was up to a 52 tooth pinion and he could of went higher to gain more speed but wasnt sure how much space was available. any help would be great.

i would say about 54. im running a 47 to a 76 on our track which is 90x40. i would get a 76 tooth from prs as it has the 12 diff balls for a smoother diff plus it will allow for larger pinions. i would get 45 to 55 tooth and you should be set

Stomer carries them but is out of stock right now, but you can get them here
http://www.lefthander-rc.com/catalog...oducts_id=1258

I have used a 55 and I could have gone up a bit more if I had wanted to. I have seen up to a 60 pinion used but on another brand.

Yeah If you want to pay more for shipping then the spur gear itself. I've tried several times to e-mail them and ask them to ship normal mail to make the shipping price reasonable but they never responded.

The last time I contacted PRS thay said thay do not sell direct, but thay may have changed that policy.

I'm new to 1/12th so had a lot of questions to ask, and looked at all the cars available, ended up with a DB12R, really happy with it, as is everyone I know who ended up buying the DB12R. The other thing to note, which in my opinion is very important, the quality of every part of the kit is top quality and you dont really need to buy any upgrade parts for the car to go fast, if you have any questions, concerns etc... Jason has been great, as has my LHS, also parts are easy and quick to get. I really cant think of a reason NOT to buy a DB12R.

Well I was going to work on my car this past weekend but as usual got distracted by computer games As it turns out it's a good thing I didn't since my lowered pod plates came in today. Had I worked on it this weekend I would have been doing it all over again this week

Default Great Car!!!

A little synopsis on the car so far-

I've had the car a few weeks before Vegas and ran it for practice twice with a 17.5 in it.
Gave Jason some insight on what I was racing on and he built the car for me. Car felt decent being that I haven't ran 1/12th in like 2 years.

Fast forward to 3 weeks ago-
The 12-scale guys around here have been running 17.5/Stock for the past 8 months trying to get the class steady. First race with the car and 1st-place was a lock.
Two weeks ago, 2nd was all I could muster being that I made a bad tire choice and body mounting issues. Pulled the car off the track, fixed the body, went back out, finished 2nd and only a few laps down. That felt awesome
For the past two days, practiced pretty much all day testing tyres, bodies, battery positions, gearing/timing, you name it.
Purple/Dbl Pink- Lilac/Dbl Pink- Purple/Pink- 2-Stage Purple/2-stage Dbl Pink; Speed 8 vs. Speed 8HD.

Fastest combo on my indoor unsealed high-bite asphalt track is Lilac/Dbl Pink, Speed 8, batteries in middle position (I still like the feel of all the way forward better), 90mm rollout. I was pulling 10 flats outta the car and my buddy (ROAR Masters Champ) with his 13.5 clad Gen X was pulling 9.7's but couldn't get around me. Knowing how he drives help and the inside line was a VERY good friend of mine
I got the car to work fairly well with the HD but only with the harder Purple fronts with a 1/3 sauce. Still a bit too much downforce on the nose.

Downside-
Using battery tape is a pain (but J is working on that)

Upside-
This car has tremendous corner speed. It's stable, stays untweaked-once BALANCED, tough (believe me, I know), easy to drive fast and fun. Can I dare say a MONSTER on asphalt?
If anyone wants my complete set-up, holla back.....

We got carpet shipped today so in a few weeks, 13.5 carpet munchin' is on tap. Let's see if we convince the neh-sayers
