The GTB is a bit on the heavy side and large side but you should be pretty close buddy.

you and adrian should get the first and 20th cars, i think that would be fair. For all the work you put into it, you should use it as a paper weight or something on your desk

got to race mine again for the 1st time in 8 weeks

Using a Speed Passion 10.5s all weekend and ran a best of 11.96s lap against open class 11.20s lap

lying 12th after r4 then improved in r5 only to pipped by a few others in heats 5 & 6 in r5 which put down in 15th & then finished 5th in B final running the Speed Passion 10.5s

Summer Shoot Out R1 / Chesterfield setup
FRONT
.022 BMI Linear Front Springs DB2101
No Oil on kingpin
3.5mm Ride Height
5' Castor blocks / teflon washer either side
Camber, set to run foams flat
0' Toe
Laid Down Servo / Sanwa 141

REAR
Quick Tune Brace
New Lowered Pod Plates
C12 Hot Bodies Shock / Hara Medium spring / 30wt Oil
Shock Length to give approx 1-1.5mm pod droop
Kit ball studs plus 1mm shim on motor pod
0.070 flex plates (DB3010)
Tubes in rear position / 5000wt Oil in tubes
3.5mm Ride height
172mm wide

MISC
front tyre Jaco 2X Pink
rear tyre Jaco Yellow
CS Tyre Additive, Full front/rear
Cells = Middle
Parma Zytec
Speed Passion 10.5 on 57.5mmpr (or there abouts)
Nosram Evo esc 2-6-0-0
StromForce 4600 EnerG SC4600

Didn't touch the car at all apart from changing the tyres & batteries. Wanted to change something but didn't dare as I was having such a ball and I was getting quicker each run

Car was on rails, eating the faster open class cars in & through the corners, only to loose 4 to 5 feet on the straight

All in all a good day.

Jason,

edit the above setup for 6.5BL & lower please to give a starting point for a low to medium grip carpet for the next round or maybe SlowerOne will post his setup here to from the same event

wow - just got a hacker 10.5 brushless moto for my db12 for a large asphalt race this weekend on a huge 1/8th based track.

This thing barely fits and its tight!

Whats the spur gear that comes with the db12 kit? i got mine second hand from a snowbird racer last year, and this is my first time taking it out. with the current spur and the size of the e40 it doesnt look like i have much room for a pinion gear at all......

any way to tell on the spur how many teeth it is?

ok so the guy i got the car from was running brushed 27t, and had a 64p 36 tooth pinion gear

What pinions do you recomend i pick up to use with the 10.5 on a large asphalt track? (asuming the original spur is whats on the car)

I'll be running new prisms, or trued down to whatever you guys recomend.. (asuming someone at 301 has a truer they will show me how to use)

Hey Nemix,

Im assuming your going to be racing at 301. I would start off with a 38/88 I know that pinion might be to small cauz I never raced at 301. I would gear up from there every run you make out there.

I know its not much info but I hope it get's you in the right direction

I'm running in the same race and planning on a 50 pinion 78 spur as a starting point on my 10.5....
And I'll have my tire truer with me...

smaller spur = taller gearing
bigger pinion = taller gearing
taller gearing = more speed and less acceleration

at 301 you will want very tall gearing compared to most local tracks (For us).
