The nice part is running the car outdoors. They are a ton of fun on asphalt.

Ran my DB12R for the first time on asphalt this past weekend on a low bite parking lot track with a little pollen even after blowing the track off with leaf blowers and spraying grape soda.

Took a little time playing with tires, but I started out and ran a setup pretty close to the basic setup off the BMI website and the car was pretty quick. Looking for a little more forward bite. I ran Dbl Pink fronts and Pink rears with Paragon FXII and SPF 45 el cheapo sun tan lotion. Compounded the whole rear and just used the suntan lotion on the fronts. I'll be trying Ground Effects this weekend with the same tire combo, and maybe spend a practice run trying out some yellow rears. The car felt very well balanced, but just didn't seem to put all the power down that it could. I was able to TQ and win in a small field, the first time any of us have run 1/12 at this track.

Oh yea, this setup was very close to the setup I also used to TQ at the Region 2 Carpet Regionals at Mimi's a couple months ago. Really only changed the body, center spring and tire combo.

Hey bro, If the track has alot of pollen it is going to be tough to get the forward bite. Try a gold or silver center spring. Make sure you are running your batteries all the way back also. Congrats on the good showing buddy.

Unfortunately that's what I thought. I was running everything you suggested. Gold spring and batteries all the way back. I don't know if I have a silver spring or not, I may get ahold of one and give it a try.

Thanks for your help. I think this class is taking off at my track now. Seems like more people want to start racing 1/12.

Going to regular Ground FX instead of FX II should help some. If you have any influence over the track prep you might suggest rinsing off the track with a hose first to cut down on the pollen, if possible. I also found on our asphault, which was sealed with a sealer not friendly to foam tires, that grape soda just did not provide enough grip. We ended up using strawberry punch syrup. I buy 2 gallons of syrup and mix it 1:1 with water and empty all 4 gallons when spraying the track. It's tacky enough to leave shoes on the track if you forget to tie em
