Thats great to hear buddy. Thats what we were looking for. 1/12th cars have always been so fragile and people were not interested in running them for that reason. We wanted to show people it isnt always the case.

Well, after hearing that I am sold. I now just need to find the finances to get that car.

what are the recommended bodies for the DB12R on Carpet? Stock or 17.5 motor.

I ask it once for another chassis in the 12th forum: Parma Speed 8 or Protoform Speed 12
Answered by RCSteve93, I guess
Quote:
Parma Speed 8* - Best for stock and 19 turn, low drag and medium downforce, very stable
Parma Speed 8 HD* - Best for mod, high downforce and medium drag, very stable and planted
Protoform Speed 12* - Best for mod, medium stability, high downforce and a little less drag than Speed 8 HD
Protoform Speed 12b* - Best for stock and 19 turn, Medium stability, good downforce and very low drag.
*Light wieght version uses thinner lexan.
PS: can't get a link to the answer, sorry!

I understand that the Parma speed 8 and Protoform Speed 12 are the bodies of choice in 12th scale. My question is are there any interfearance problems with the DB12R chassis that I should be aware of with either one of these bodies.

just your battery bars on both

and maybe your topdeck depending on if you slam the speed 8 to low
just what ive found to happen, i usually heat up the spot on the body and push it up but thats just how i fix it

i find the parma a little nicer looking, and a bit cleaner. It has very little drag, but less downforce.

I just switched from the Protoform Speed 12 to the Parma Speed 8 and picked up a crap load of steering. I won't be going back to the protoform any time soon. This is on carpet.

Speaking of which, our local track here in Ottawa had it's big race this past weekend and despite being hit with over 40cm of snow we had about 70 entries. Using the DB12R I managed 3rd in stock 12th and 1st in 19 turn 12th. I'm the first to admit I got a little lucky but you have to be good to be lucky right?

I got a little sick of rushing around switch motors and tyres between heats so I picked up a BMI 12 for a second car.
That reminds me, Jason expect a PM in a few minutes.

The DB10R is on www.bmiracing.com front page with a link to the Redrc.com press release.

We are really close to turning it loose guys...we just need a few final parts to come in.

GreaseMonkey - two cars are the way to go. what is the carpet like at your local track? 70 entries is great! it sounds like your pretty hooked up. what set-up did you run on your car?

At 360 RC Speedway's "The Gaunlet" race yesterday I ran 1/12th Stock and 19T. I really feel that tires are the key to getting this car set-up. I was a Purple Front/Grey Rear guy but I think the car responds better to equal front/rear tire hardness combos or softer front than rear. I tried two different set-up directions yesterday (I ran the same Parma Speed 8 body on both cars):

#1 - Had tons of steering that I needed to put a 50% delay into my radio. Ran this setup in Stock but proved it works well in 13.5T during practice.

Front: Jaco Magenta ; Paragon on innner 1/2 ; .018 springs ; 4deg caster; -1deg camber; 10K silicone in lower pivot ball ; Angled servo

Rear: Jaco Magenta ; Paragon full ; Thin hockey sticks w/ tweak screws touching ; 40WT ; Wind Tunnel 15# "V" Hive VCS Spring; Long ball stud ; Wind Tunnel #3 Green Shur Lube

#2 - Had a power-on push, and was carying less corner speed than #1. Ran this setup in 19T - and performed my fastest lap/run of the weekend w/o my damper tubes connected (forgot to reattach after checking tweak).

Front: Jaco Lilac ; Paragon on innner 1/2 ; .018 springs ; 6deg caster; -1deg camber; 10K silicone in lower pivot ball ; flat servo ; medium ball studs

Rear: Jaco Grey ; Paragon full ; Thin hockey sticks w/ tweak screws touching ; 40WT ; Wind Tunnel 15# "V" Hive VCS Spring; Long ball stud; Wind Tunnel #4 Red Shur Lube

Jason - By the way, Bruce Carbone of Speed Merchant was a 360 on Sunday. I spoke to him about the Formula Front End. Thank you for follow-up up with him on the DB12R's front dimensions. He said that after the Carpet Nationals he would look to fab up the proper top plate.
