would that mean the solder tabs are facing towards the battery, or the servo, or to the antenna?

What i meant to say is the solder tabs on the ESC. I run the batteries solder tabs so they are on top of the cells and i angle them to make them sit between the cells to make sure they clear the body. The 1/12th bodies sit really low and if the solder tabs are too high, the battery wires can hit the body. Just make sure they clear with the body on.

Ok, i'm just getting into racing, and I bought a db12r from a snowbird racer that built the car just for that race. I'm putting in a 21.5 brushless.. Can you guys give me some spur and pinion combos i should start out with? The gears are the only thing i have left to pick up before heading to the track.

ah, that sounds better, you should take a look at the 17.5 gearing thread, they have all types of different gearing choices for 1/12 and 1/10, which is really helpful, just put in a search.

I ran a 17.5 last week in my db12r, I believe the range for rollout was 75 to 80 mm, that was on a small track, it was about a lap or so slower than a 13.5 on a small course, some people have been gearing them higher, that would be a good start though, you want the smallest spur you can find, 78 tooth Robinson or 76 tooth PRS is a good start.

Jason, I am thinking about jumping ships to try out your DB12r for the Nationals in Jonesboro. I was wondering what parts would you recommend on for spares for your car as far as chassis pieces. I know about getting front suspension that is the usual, but what specifically. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Carlos,

The most common parts that people buy are flex plates, side pivots, and maybe a center pivot. The lower pod plate is an oocasional purchase but not very often. The 1 pc. side wings have been a real popular product as well.
