This past weekend I finally broke down and decided to tweak the car as they were both giving me fits on right handers (at least they were consistenly problematic). After tweaking my car I went from turning 11.1s laps to 10.8s laps and was able to start attacking the track (note -- that caused other problems -- but that is another story).
Am I doing something wrong? Should I try other balance buttons? Is there a recommended method for using balance buttons than just pushing the car over to both sizes (doesn't seem that precise but other DB12R runners are doing this). Do I need scales?
When I discovered my car had a tweak (and after doing so, we found other DB12Rs with a tweak on Sunday) I loosed everything on my pod, hockey sticks and front end and then re-tightended. The car had the same +1 tweak on a Integy Laser Tweak Board (I did the coin on the front wheel test too just to verify).

I would check out your front end. It can be a collapsed spring, bent kingpin or even a front arm tweaked. It is not possible for the rear to be tweaked with the way it is constructed unless it is broken. If you like you can give me a call tommorow and i can run you through the things to check

I don't have a DB12R (yet) but follow them closely and am using the same front end setup. I found with the stock IRS front arm spacers I had some tweak in the front arms. They just would not sit level for me. I picked up a set of the BMI front arm spacers and now they are perfect. Also as Jason mentions check your front springs...I did find that over time one spring was more compressed then the other and had to compensate with shims or replacing both springs.

Keep in mind that the car will need to be balanced for it to read right on a tweak board. This really is the only way to make any 1/12th car run to its best potential. Choose electronics placement wisely. You really dont want to have to tweak the car with tweak screws on any car. It really is only a preload adjustment. Running one spring with more preload than the other is just going to be covering for a problem elsewhere and it will show in how the car drives.
Also remember that the front wheels need to be dead straight when checking tweak and your camber angles need to be identicle from left to right or you will see variations.

Jason,
do you have any plans on carrying other parts from IRS (sure lube) or Slapmaster (thrust bearing)?
also, when do we get to see the grub screw droop setting thing, will it required a lot of new parts or can we fit our selves?
