here is a pic of the new servo mounts that will be coming with the car.they allow for flat or angled servo mounting.dont mind the car,it has the old pod on it.its my car and as strange as it sounds,i am always the last to get the new stuff let me know what you think
How's the bump-steer on the flat mounted servo configuration?

As is the distance between the ball joints on the servo horn, and the radius on the horn they are set to.

The angle of the turnbuckle from font to back will influence bump steer as well.

the DB12R was named after my long lost love,my motorcycle.before i got back into RC cars 7 years ago when i moved to florida,i was getting ready to get into road racing.i had a Bimota DB9 which was my favorite bike.i didnt plan on racing it because it was 1 of 18 sent over from italy.i had a ducati 888 that i wanted to race.anyway,i never did lose my love for bikes but i did almost lose my life on it which caused me to throw in the towel.i decided to name the 1/12th car after my favorite bike but with a 12 instead of 9 being that it is a 1/12th scale.

when the turnbuckles angle verticly match the angle of the upper arm,the car will have zero bump steer because the arm and turnbuckle are swinging the same arc.when they are level you will add bump toe in.with the angled mounts, you can match the upper arm angle, with the flat mounts, you can run bump toe in.you shim the ball stud on the steering block to adjust how much bump toe you have

Now to bog down the thread with some newbie questions. I'll apologize for my ignorance about 1/12 scale cars in advance.

What kind of spare parts should I keep on hand?

It's my understanding a lot of 1/12 cars use the same front arms. Which arms does the DB12R use?

Are there any 1/12 set up guides on the web?
it doesnt hurt to keep some spares around.i normally carry an extra set of flex plates, lower arms, upper arms and ball captures and pivot balls.i havent had to use em but i am at ease knowing i have them.

we are using the IRS lower arms and AE upper arms.we do not use the stock AE upper hinge pins.we use the IRS upper hinge pins.the IRS lower arms are really adjustable for running small tires and very strong and accurate.

we will be including a setup guide with the instruction manual along with a good base setup for asphalt and carpet

Cool Tim, looking forward to it. Take the night off work Tim, you work too hard as it is. I hope things went well on your visit.
