Yeah man you can feel what ever you want to feel Im not saying that your wrong in thinking what you think I just want you to see it from the other side and defend the track a little......yeah I do remember the days when racing was only 6 bucks and you won 4 bucks in track bucks for first place...so really only costing 2 bucks to race....yeah thoes were the days.....maybe Scotty can have a retro night once a month....lol

the way i look at it is im going to pay whatever i have to, to have fun doing what i enjoy.

here are my past hobbies

competitive archery
$6,000 in equipment,
tournament shoots $10-$15 average (plus driving 1-4 hours)
practice varies from range to range $3--$7/hour

Drag racing
$25,000 in equipment
race entery fees $25 for trophy classes
race entry fees $50 for money classes

$10,000 in equipment
green fees $12-$75 per 18 holes
Driving range fees $2-$4 a bucket of balls
course memberships $350-$750 yearly

so for my rc addiction (which is the cheapest hobby i have had so far) the fees are nothing.
where else can you go and pay $5-$20 for a day of entertainment doing what you love??

Regarding Trackside....

While the cost of racing is certainly high, you also have to pay for quality - and the show that Scotty runs is certainly quality! While people are complaining about running at a top notch facility like the one that Scotty runs, there are people who are paying the same amounts for race fees for tracks which are nowhere near the quality of Trackside... I was surprised at the track fee the first time I was there - on vacation to visit my family - but I was also very pleased with the facility!

Having raced at many different tracks, I would say that the value of the racing at trackside is worth the extra bucks... just my .02

Default $5

If $5 is a concern, take your food & drink for the day from home.
