On-road racing Monster Stock, Off-Road P2K2. Just my preferences. The MVP I have never had very much goodluck with. Other people I know have nothing but goodluck with the MVP and not the others. It is a trial and error process for you and your driving style.

Get the Trinity Moster Stock and Gear Down. You will love it.

Monster stock is a high-revving motor, p2k2 is more torquey (original p2k was even torquier, but must be hard to find as it was replaced nearly two years ago).
For on-road, I would recommend a trinity-based motor (either Monster or p2k2, every Monster I've seen has had the edge on the track). The Reedy MVP and the Orion Core both run a bit hot, which is frustrating.

I think might get a monster too for off-road.

I run a Monster Stock PRO in My TB EvoII and I absolutely Love it. When geared right, I have easily matched a 13 Turn Mod around the track and stuck right with him in the straights,
This is no exaggeration. The driver of the 13 Turn TA04R was my brother and we are closely matched in Skill level.

Is it really good for off-road?

Matrix V10 for tight tracks with long straights
Moster for open fast track
P2k2 for short tight tracks
saying that my monster is that fast its hard to set-up right gearing and brush/spring combo

Rc King - Yep, can be used for offroad, even on tight tracks, just make sure you start with a small enough pinion. As example, for an 82 tooth spur in a XXX, a 17 tooth pinion is plenty on a tight track, and a 20 tooth gives you the topend on an open track. You could possibly run one more tooth in each situation, but after that, you really wouldn't be doing anything more than heating up the motor, depending on the individual motor.

Oh, and the only one I've used is better than any stock motor I've used before......
